At Prognolic we separate trading signals from noise. For trading signals we deem any event which repeatedly influences the stock price as worthy. For instance, when analyst ABC recommends to BUY stock XYZ, we track how the price is changing over time. If the market reacts positively on the recommendation and does it time and time again, then we deem the recommendations of the same analyst and for the same stock as a signal. The more often the situation occurs, the more predictive power the signal has.
