How did you get interested in trading?

I've always been interested in the financial markets, but my interest accelerated during college. I'm a signals processing guy, and I realized that market auctions are nothing more than a signal: price over time. You can process that signal to remove the noise and trade against it.

What asset classes do you trade and what is your approach?

My speciality is equity options, but I also trade forex and futures.

What were your best and worst trades ever?

My worst trade is easy: SNDK. That was all the proof I needed that losers average losers. My best trade is actually a group of trades, buying puts on BSC and LEH throughout all of 2008.

How did you find out about StockTwits?

Howard Lindzon mentioned it in passing and I was on board back when it was a Tumblr hack.

How would you advice new traders to make the most of StockTwits?

Do not trade on the advice of others. Impulse trades will get you burnt. When you're first starting off you don't know which user shares your trading style, risk parameters, or timeframe; it's best to watch them trade and find the group that's best suited for you.

What trading platform do you use and why?

I like to say I'm brokerage-independent; however, my main platform is thinkorswim, due to their options analytics software.

What do you listen to while trading?

I listen to non-vocal electronic music. My main stations are di.fm and somafm.com. No TV-- talking heads don't improve my expectancy. I also check my Google Reader every 15 minutes.
