@0grey0 @ch3vy “Facists on the left” is such a strange take. Fascism has historically been considered a far-right ideology. Sure, I denounce facism from anywhere. I have a feeling we’re going to disagree on what you are interpreting as “facism from the left”. Either it’s going to be some minority held view by some extreme camp, or something like “suppression of Free speech” that has nothing with government censorship. 🤷‍♂️ Or maybe something, else. In any case this all started with “leftists have no class” - again, such a strange comments, as it implies that right wingers have more class somehow.
@gilmeriken @ch3vy Maybe Fascism " is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, as well as strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe." What are the striking and evil parts of this? I posit that it's dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, .... I see fascists as those who want to silence and oppress those who disagree and who want everyone to fall in line. Maybe I'm taking liberty with the word, but don't these evils exist on both sides? I could be biased: My wife is from a country that was a communist dictatorship and morphed into a bastardized form of capitalism to survive. I can't even speak out about it for fear of retribution. And the leaders murdered millions based on their supposed "privilege". So, for instance, farmers were murdered for their "privilege". But it was really just to conquer and oppress.
