I know I'm not supposed to discuss the politics here. But I need to vent out...
So here is the deal. How dumb a person can be if he/she doesn't understand the difference in a positive reference and a negative reference ?
Yes, I'm talking about the Corono Virus being labeled as Chinese virus by Trump. To top if off a press reporter asked a dumb question if Chinese food should be labeled as racist. 🤦♂️
When a positive invention is referencing an origin, it is not racist. You are appreciating the goodness of the origin.
But when an act of nature is labeled in a denigrating manner to a demography /country of origin, then yes it is a bad reference. Should we call Spanish flu as American Virus ?
That press reporter needs training on cultural references.
"Japanese Technology" is not racist.
"Japs" during WW2 was racism.
Let's just call Corono Virus as COVID-19. No one intentionally made this virus, just like H1N1 spanish flu.
