$PRVB My teenage son just signed up to participate in the free screening for the T1D study for PRVB because he is genetically at risk. The link to get a free T1D at-risk test is at pediatrics.mc.vanderbilt.ed.... I found this link through some of the DD article links you all have posted. He signed up on Wednesday, and a FedEx box with the test kit arrived on Friday. He will take it to a local Quest lab for the blood test administration. It will take 4-6 weeks to get the results. If he is positive, he could potentially participate in a PRVB trial. Not knowing if he could develop T1D has always hung over his head somewhat, and he was delighted that he could participate in this free test. Imo, this technology is wonderful for those at risk and should make it easy for PRVB to recruit subjects.
