@Ro_Patel When have we shut down the country and quarantined healthy individuals before? This is unprecedented. What is your source? Your chart says "according to CDC" In 2017, almost 1.6 million people died from diarrheal diseases globally. This is more than all deaths from all 'intentional injuries' combined in the same year: almost 800,000 died from suicide, and 405,000 from homicide. Our World in Data ourworldindata.org/diarrhea...
@JesusHypeman ??? I never said that anything close to suggest what you are claiming - pls reread my comments. "When have we shut down the country and quarantined healthy individuals before?" CDC: Center of Disease Control - It is a United States federal agency, under the Department of Health and Human Services funded by US taxpayers. Yes, people die from various illness & diseases. What separates COVID19 from diarrheal diseases, suicides, homicides, etc is that they are not contagious. Therefore, it is a false equivalence to use a comparison. Furthermore, I have said a number of times that COVID19 mortality rates are 1-2x greater than seasonal influenza flu, however at issue is the rate of spread of 10-20x. Therefore, the aggregate number of hospitalization & mortality will significantly higher & place a strain on the medical system.
