A kilogram of hydrogen is going for about $16, according to True Zero, a California-based operator of hydrogen filling stations. But one kilogram of hydrogen has about the same energy content as a gallon of gasoline. So $16 for the equivalent of a gallon of gasoline—which goes for around $2 lately—isn’t great. 3. So hydrogen costs must come down and fossile oil. Must be taxed higher.. Time for taxes on fossile.. Take that tax to install hydro stations
