$SPX $SPY #COVID19 The failure to bring down the Active Case Total has led to this... Chart of Hospitalizations => covidtracking.com/data/char... An All Time High...
#COVID19 Essentially, the first U.S. lockdown was wasted, because of bad leadership/policy and bad behavior at many levels. The second containment attempt after the summer surge was helpful, but we never drove down our active case burden as the chart shows (see pr). There were only a few flirtations with negative numbers on the chart. What we've been doing has been a half-hearted (to put it nicely) effort to control the pandemic. As a nation, we've given up not once, but twice. This is the big test, because the prior two failures set us up with a high healthcare/hospital burden just before the cold arrived to drive people back inside. The glimmer of hope I pointed out last night is just that...a glimmer, because adding 0.98% in active cases today vs. yesterday is better than the 3.28% increase on 11-13-20 shown on the chart, but it still raises the healthcare hospital burden. Will Americans come together now and "do this" or not? 2/2
