Remember the guy in Wales who had 8,000 $BTC on his hard drive and accidentally threw it in the garbage? 🏴
James Howells been trying to get permission to go find it in the local landfill. For 10 years.

Fast forward to today, and he’s threatening to sue Newport City Council for a staggering £446 million if they won’t let him play Indiana Jones in a landfill. 🗑️
The Council is worried that digging around in the garbage would pose an ecological risk. Because God knows if you move a bucket full of dirty diapers and banana peels from sitting on top of a pile of rotting takeout to of a pile expired Marmite jars, the planet just won’t be able to take it.
Howells isn’t just content with digging up garbage; he wants to dig up the law, too. He’s demanding a judicial review of the council’s “unlawful” refusal to let him turn Newport into a crypto excavation site.
If his BTC is found, he’s pledged 10% of the BTC to the city of Newport by creating crypto terminals in every store, renewable Bitcoin mining infrastructure owned by the city, and £50 pounds per person. 🤑
