Good evening, everyone. Welcome to the Stocktwits Top 25 Newsletter for Week 44 of 2021.

The Stocktwits Top 25 reports the 25 best-performing stocks in the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Russell 2000 year to date (YTD), and tracks their performances over time. 

Here are your Stocktwits Top 25 Lists for Week 44:


S&P 500

ST Top 25 S&P 500

The ST Top 25 S&P 500 List pulled back for the first time in weeks.

13 of 25 names closed negative.

Seagate Technologies stood out from the pack after gaining 11.75%. $STX is a Winner below.

Oil stocks were weaklings – $FANG fell 3.37%, $OXY descended 4%, and $COP crashed 4.10%. 

Two Freshmen made the list. The companies are Seagate Technology and Extra Space Storage. 

The Stocktwits Top 25 S&P 500 Momentum Meter dipped 0.59% and the S&P 500 fell 0.31%. The 0.28% difference indicates that the top stocks traded very close to the full index.


Nasdaq-100

The Big Cap Nasdaq 100

The ST Top 25 N100 List remained quite green.

18 names closed positive. 

Tesla tumbled 15.44% as the list’s biggest loser. It’s a Sinner below. 

Semiconductors stayed strong. $AMD ascended 8.5%, $XLNX rose 7.7%, and $LRCX appeared on the list as a Freshman. 

CrowdStrike, Cadence Design Systems, and Lam Research Corp are the list’s Freshmen.

The ST Top 25 Nasdaq 100 Momentum Meter grew 0.66% while the full Nasdaq 100 fell 0.69%. The 1.35% differential shows that the top stocks are outperforming the full-index again.


Russell 2000

The ST Top 25 R2K List was the life of the party in Week 45.

While only 9 names closed positive, those gainers held their own and pushed the Momentum meter into positive territory.

$SAVA can’t make up its mind. One week it doubles, one week it loses a quarter of its value. It’s on the Sinners list this week.

Big 5 Sporting Goods was the name to own in Week 45. $BGFV blasted 45.18% and entered the list as a Freshman. It’s also the Top Dawg below.

The list’s only Freshman is $BGFV.

The ST Top 25 R2K Momentum Meter sprang 2.89% while the Russell 2000 index lost 1.04%. The 3.93% gap proves the top stocks are far stronger than the full index.

ST Top 25 TOP DAWG OF THE WEEK 🐶

The ST Top 25 Top Dawg for Week 45, 2021 is #18 R2K – Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp.

Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp blasted onto the ST Top 25 R2K List as a Freshman ranked #18.

$BGFV put up a 45.18% week-gain as the strongest name on any of the three lists. This under-the-radar sporting goods stock is on the up-trend after its earnings beat on Nov 2.

The Winners 📈

△ #24 S&P 500 – Seagate Technology was the strongest name on the ST Top 25 S&P 500 list by far. When most of the names on the list were red, this sucker soared 11.75% and closed at all-time highs.

The gap up on Oct 22 lit a fuse in $STX. Since then, the stock has ripped 24% and closed above the $100 level at $108.12.

△ #4 R2K – Apollo Medical Holdings was marching to the beat of its own drum. The medical company climbed 27.85% and doubled its ranking, moving from #16 to #8 on the ST Top 25 R2K List.

$AMEH beat earnings and sales expectations in its third-quarter earnings report on Nov 4, since then the stock has closed green ⅚ trading sessions.

△ #4 N100 – Advanced Micro Devices moved up 8.5% in Week 45 and into the ninth ranking. $AMD was the top-performing stock on the ST Top 25 N100 List.

$AMD ascended 10.15% to new-highs on Monday after releasing the new AMD Instinct™ MI200 series accelerators, the world’s fastest accelerator for high performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads. 

The semiconductor has now closed positive 6 weeks in a row.

$AMD is up 61.26% YTD.

The Sinners 📉

▼ #15 – N100 – Tesla Inc was the ST Top 25 N100 List’s biggest loser. $TSLA came crashing down 15.44% and into the fifteenth ranking.

$TSLA closed negative 4 days this week amid Elon unloading 10% of his stake in the company. 

While this may have been the stock’s worst weekly performance since Mar 2020, it is still up 46% year-to-date and trading above $1,000.

▼ #2 R2K – Cassava Sciences slipped 24.3% after reporting third-quarter earnings. Despite the weak performance, $SAVA remains ranked #2 on the ST Top 25 R2K List. 

On Wednesday, the biotech company reported wider than expected losses on no revenue. One could see why the stock lost a quarter of its value on that data.
