At ApeFest, a gathering for the crypto and NFT elite, attendees expected exclusivity but got an eyeful of UV light instead, reminiscent of a calamity befitting a Poe narrative or a Netflix horror scene. 😵💫

Adrian Zdunczyk of YellowBlock sounded the alarm on X, urging a medical check-up posthaste, as the UV fiasco threatened long-term ocular health.

Yuga Labs, the puppeteer of BAYC, is facing its own eerie echo of the Usher family’s doom. Amid plummeting NFT prices, they’ve pivoted to the Otherside metaverse, leaving CryptoPunks’ value to wither like a forgotten heirloom. Yet, in a bid for redemption, Yuga announced a partnership with Magic Eden to create a marketplace that honors creator royalties.
As the dust settles on ApeFest’s UV debacle, one hopes future events will channel more “Great Gatsby” and less burning of retinas and skin. 👀
