$CLF This is the reality of being patient with losers. Most losers do eventually reverse. But this comes at a heavy cost as it develops a very bad habit that will eventually catch up to you in a huge way. You will eventually get steamrolled. It gives you a false sense of good trading performance as it increases your win rate. But the few losers you end up with will be monster losses and will wipe out any gain you had from the strategy of being patient with losers. The solution is be patient with winners. Doing the best thing for your portfolio is usually the hardest thing to do. It's hard to cut a losing stock loose. No one likes to admit they were wrong and take a loss. It's hard to ride a winner. We fear giving back our gains. We want to lock in profit. These psychological factors make trading and investing hard yet simple.
