$AMC Each time a group of short computers running an algorithm designed to lower share prices sells back and forth among themselves it still counts as trade volume. So short computers trading a 100 share lot back and forth 1000 times adds 100, trade volume to the days total. There is no telling how many times a day this happens and it could be 1000 times, or 10,000 times or even more. The point being made is there may be far fewer actual investors selling shares of AMC than the daily volume indicates. The longs holding AMC shares may be holding even tighter than we think.
