How Vera Rubin Chips Will Change AI Computing
Jensen Huang just doubled Nvidia’s revenue outlook at GTC yesterday. He forecast $1 trillion in AI compute demand through 2027, up from $500 billion previously, driven by the claim that AI computing demand has grown by roughly 1 million times in the past two years. To meet that demand, Nvidia unveiled Vera Reuben chips delivering 3.6 exaFLOPS and 50x the efficiency of the previous generation. On the autonomous vehicle side, 11 automakers were revealed to now be on the platform, plus a new partnership with Uber. Disney also made an appearance, showing how it uses the platform in animation and Imagineering. Nvidia stock closed at $183 yesterday, while analysts sit at an average price target of $263. Trading volume was 18% above the prior three-month average. And yet—the keynote didn’t move markets that much. So now the question: is a trillion dollars in AI compute demand already priced in?
