$TTOO Dr Deborah Birx, White House response coordinator, alluded to the diagnostic machines appearing on the coronavirus stage for INITIAL dx. These will be supported by government. She described what they look like, machines with “wells” for samples to be analyzed. Some take 200 samples and they are too big for small hospitals and rural areas. Some have 4 wells, she said, or 12. (I was waiting for Dr Birx to refer to T2, to say “6 wells,” but she did not.) Anyway, those are ideal for small hospitals and rural areas. So now we know T2 is not in competition with big machines. They have their niche and T2 has its niche - recall, this is for initial dx. But the niche is the foothold T2 needs to gets its diagnostic technology into the tent.
