California and the coalition allege that these “unexplained and secretive actions” violate the constitutional separation of powers, as the funding was approved by bipartisan majorities in Congress.<h2 class="st-heading-2">California Hits Back At Trump</h2>“The Trump Administration’s illegal attempt to stop funding for electric vehicle infrastructure must come to an end,” said Attorney General Rob Bonta. “This is just another reckless attempt that will stall the fight against air pollution and climate change, slow innovation, thwart green job creation, and leave communities without access to clean, affordable transportation.” &nbsp;Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser and Washington Attorney General Nick Brown are also co-leading the lawsuit, joined by the attorneys general of Arizona, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, and the State of Pennsylvania.According to California Governor Gavin Newsom, about 2.4 million zero-emission vehicles have been sold in California including electric trucks and delivery vans. The two EV charging programs set up in 2022 provide $179.8 million in federal funds to California state agencies for building and maintaining EV chargers. The attorneys general are now asking the court to permanently stop the Administration from withholding these funds.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Not A First</h2>California and other Democratic-led states previously sued the Trump administration in May over its decision to end EV charging infrastructure funding under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program aimed at providing funds to states for building a national network of EV chargers along highways. &nbsp;However, the Trump administration has been removing incentives for EVs overall. The previous report stated there was a decline of 4,000 jobs during the month. Similarly, the initial count of September was revised down by 11,000, from 119,000 additions to 108,000.Cumulatively, this is a reduction of 33,000 over the two months.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Unemployment Rate Highest Since September 2021</h2>The unemployment rate for November was higher than expected, at 4.6%, compared to an estimate of 4.5%. This is the highest since September 2021, according to BLS data.In particular, the jobless rate among Blacks was the highest, at 8.3%, followed by Hispanics at 5%, Whites at 3.9%, and Asians at 3.6%. Jobless rates among adult men and women stood at 4.1%, while for teenagers, it was at 16.3%.The agency also said it was unable to collect the data needed to calculate the October unemployment rate due to the government shutdown.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Health Care, Construction Drive Gains</h2>The BLS jobs report also revealed that while health care continued to trend up in payroll additions, the federal government jobs continued to decline. Health care added 46,000 jobs, construction jobs grew by 28,000 during the month, while social assistance added 18,000 roles.Transportation and warehousing lost 18,000 jobs, while federal government employment fell by 6,000.Average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls edged up by $0.05 to $36.86. Over the past 12 months, average hourly earnings have risen by 3.5%.Meanwhile, U.S. equities declined in Tuesday morning’s trade. This has led investors to scramble for hedges, which is the primary reason for the increase in precious metals prices.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Momentum Spreading Beyond Gold</h2>What makes the current rally unusual is that gold is no longer the sole driver. Silver’s explosive gains have sparked follow-through buying in platinum and palladium, suggesting momentum trading. Gold not leading the rally also weakens the argument that central banks, particularly in emerging markets, are behind the move.Spot silver has been on a record-breaking run this month, gaining nearly 14%. It also hit an all-time high of $64.66 per ounce on Friday.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Is The Dollar An Issue?</h2>Importantly, this surge is unfolding while the U.S. dollar remains broadly stable against other major currencies. That signals the problem isn’t dollar weakness, but a more profound unease with fiat money itself, Brooks added. In August, Coca-Cola took a 16.7% stake in Monster in a $2.15 billion deal, swapping its global energy business for Monster’s non-energy brands.The deal gives Monster "enhanced access to the Coca-Cola Company's distribution system, the most powerful and extensive system in the world. At the same time, we become The Coca-Cola Company's exclusive energy play," Monster chairman Rodney Sack said at the time.Meanwhile, Celsius is streamlining its portfolio and operations, with analysts saying the near-term focus is misplaced and that the long-term benefits of the PepsiCo partnership and the Alani Nu acquisition remain intact. The company announced a $300-million share buyback last month.“The thing about Celsius is that they have it everywhere now. Every gas station, grocery store, even sandwich shops are selling it. Monster Vs. Celsius: As Consumers Ditch Soda And Booze, Which Energy Drink’s Stock Is Winning?

He repeatedly referenced TIPS break evens as evidence that inflation expectations remain well anchored. That matters enormously,” said Siegel.The Fed announced a 25-basis-point rate cut last week, in line with market expectations. In its announcement, the central bank noted that while inflation remained elevated, job gains had slowed down and the unemployment rate had edged up through September.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Bar For Restrictive Policy</h2>Following the shift in Powell’s tone on inflation, Siegel noted that when the central bank stops treating every price rise as the beginning of a new inflation regime, the bar for restrictive policy falls.The economist added that even though Powell did not pre-commit to further rate cuts, everything else he said about the economic conditions pointed to a more accommodative stance going forward.“His tone on inflation, his acknowledgment of labor market softness, and an underappreciated shift on the balance sheet—tilted clearly in a more accommodative direction,” Siegel said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">‘Striking’ Labor Market Discussion</h2>Siegel also noted that the discussion around the labor market was “striking.”Following the rate cut announcement, Powell said that payrolls are estimated to have been overstated by 60,000 per month since April.“I think you can say that the labor market has continued to cool gradually, maybe just a touch more gradually than we thought,” said Powell, while responding to reporters.Amid these labor market concerns, the economist added that jobless claims will need to be watched more closely going forward. “The Fed is forecasting unemployment around 4.4–4.5%, and we are beginning to see early signs consistent with that path,” he said.Meanwhile, U.S. equities declined in Tuesday’s pre-market trade.
