Thousands of American users faced problems with e-commerce giant Amazon’s services on Thursday, as per reports on service-tracking website Downdetector.
More than 21,100 issue reports were raised on the tracking website at the time of writing, at around 03:59 PM EST.
About 49% of the issues were related to checkout, while 22% were related to the company’s mobile application, and another 17% were about the product page.
Services Recover
While Amazon (AMZN) did not provide a reason for the outage, customer service representatives assured users the problem was being looked into.
“Hello! We’re sorry that some customers may be experiencing issues. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue,” an Amazon customer service representative said in a reply to a customer complaint on X.

Iran Conflict
Earlier this week, three of Amazon’s data facilities in the Middle East were hit in the ongoing conflict among the U.S., Israel, and Iran. The centers were damaged by drone strikes on its facilities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain, which disrupted cloud services for customers across the globe for a while.
However, Amazon has not provided any update indicating the latest outage was related to the war.
Meanwhile, AMZN shares were trending in the ‘bearish’ territory on Stocktwits at the time of writing, amid ‘low’ message volumes.
AMZN shares have gained about 5% in the last year.
