Eicher Motors rises 2% on better-than-expected Royal Enfield August sales

While sales of motorcycle models with engine capacity up to 350cc rose 11% to 69,023 units and sales of motorcycle models with engine capacity exceeding 350cc increased by 9% to 8,560 units in August 2023 over August 2022.The International Business recorded sales of 8,190 units in August 2023, which is higher by 13% as compared with 7,220 units sold in the same period a year ago.Eicher Motors is the listed parent of Royal Enfield, the global leader in middleweight motorcycles. In addition to motorcycles, Eicher has a joint venture with Swedens AB Volvo Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles which operates in Indias commercial vehicle space.The automobile majors consolidated net profit surged 50.38% to Rs 918.34 crore on 17.63% increase in revenue from operations to Rs 3,912.07 crore in Q1 FY24 over Q1 FY23.Shares of Eicher Motors advanced 1.87% to close at Rs 3,399.85 on Friday, 1 September 2023.

Eicher Motors total motorcycles sales jumps 11% YoY in Aug'23

 Eicher Motors sold 77,583 motorcycles in month of August 2023 compared to 70,112 motorcycles in August 2022, recording a growth of 11%. Exports included in total sales rose 13% to 8,190 units.

The total domestic sales of Eicher trucks and buses surged 30.4% to 5,907 units while total exports slipped 8.5% to 332 units in August 2023 over August 2022.Total sales of Volvo trucks and buses soared 115.5% to 237 units in August 2023 as compared with 110 units sold in August 2022.Eicher Motors is the listed parent of Royal Enfield, the global leader in middleweight motorcycles. Eicher Motors gains as CV sales grows 29% YoY in Aug'23

Eicher Motors announced that its unlisted subsidiary, VE Commercial Vehicles achieved 29.4% growth in total sales at 6476 units in month of August 2023 compared to 5003 units sold in August 2022. Total sales include domestic sales and exports of Eicher trucks and buses at 5907 units (up 30.4% YoY) and 332 units (down 8.5% YoY), respectively and sales of Volvo trucks and buses at 237 units (up 115.5% YoY). 

VE Commercial Vehicles records 29% growth in Aug sales 

In a regulatory filing, the company also announced the launch of Royal Enfiled Bullet 350 with the base model price pegged at Rs 1.73 lakh.
