These Government of India guaranteed unsecured rated listed redeemable non-convertible and taxable bonds are in the nature of debentures, Series VIII-B having face value of Rs 1 lakh each.The bonds have a coupon rate of 7.61% and will be matured on 24 August 2033.MTNL is engaged in providing telecom services in the geographical area of Mumbai and Delhi. As on June 2023, Government of India held 56.82% in the company.On a consolidated basis, MTNL reported net loss of Rs 851.93 crore in Q1 June 2023 as against net loss of Rs 653.07 crore in Q1 June 2022. Net sales declined 20.44% YoY to Rs 199.48 crore in Q1 June 2023.The scrip declined 2.05% to currently trade at Rs 22.01 on the BSE.

MTNL allots 1,05,500 non-convertible bonds

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam has allotted 1,05,500 no. of 7.61% Govt. of India unsecured rated listed redeemable non-convertible and taxable bonds having face value of Rs 1 lakh each on 24 August 2023. These bonds will mature on 24 August 2033.

Bidding for the bond sale is expected to occur on 23 August 2023, as per the reports. Previously, on 14 July 2023, MTNL had informed the exchanges about receiving in-principle approval to issue bonds worth up to 6,661 crore via private placement during the current financial year.MTNL is engaged in providing telecom services in the geographical area of Mumbai and Delhi. As on June 2023, Government of India held 56.82% in the company. On a consolidated basis, MTNL reported net loss of Rs 851.93 crore in Q1 June 2023 as against net loss of Rs 653.07 crore in Q1 June 2022. Net sales declined 20.44% YoY to Rs 199.48 crore in Q1 June 2023.
