The company has signed power usage agreement (PUA) for the 300 MW Solar project. The power to the tune of 750 Million Units is to be generated annually from the project and total green power generated will be supplied to Rajasthan. The project will help the Rajasthan in meeting their Renewable Purchase Obligation targets.The power generated from the project will help in reduction of carbon emission to the tune of 0.726 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year. On Renewable Energy front, in addition to present 1.40 GW capacity in Tamil Nadu, this is the first time NLCIL expanding its footprint of this capacity in other States.The company has secured 510 MW Solar Project capacity in the CPSU Scheme Phase-11 tranche-III floated by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) through competitive bidding. 300 MW Solar project capacity is under execution at Barsingsar, Bikaner District, Rajasthan. The EPC contract for the project has been awarded to TATA power solar systems through competitive bidding.NLC India is a Navratna government of India company in the fossil fuel mining sector in India and thermal power generation. As of 30 June 2023, the Government of India held 79.20% stake in the company.The company reported 27.97% fall in net profit to Rs 404.71 crore on a 14.15% decline in sales to Rs 3,316.49 crore in Q1 FY24 over Q1 FY23.

NLC India has signed a power usage agreement for 300 MW solar project with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam on 17 August 2023 for supply of solar power to state of Rajasthan for next 25 years. The power to the tune of 750 million units is to be generated from the project and the total green power generated will be supplied to the state of Rajasthan. The company has secured 510 MW solar project capacity in the CPSU scheme phase II tranche III floated by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency through competitive bidding. 300 MW solar project capacity is under execution at Barsingsar, Bikaner District, Rajasthan. The EPC contract for the project has been awarded to Tata Power Solar Systems through competitive bidding.
