Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation, Pune has declared a Mumbai based infrastructure company, Patel Engineering as L1 for a Rs. 202.30 crore contract for the works involving Construction of Pipe Line Distribution Network for Nira Deoghar Right Bank Main Canal Km 77 to Km 87. The project is to be completed in a period of 30 months. The said project is located in the state of Maharashtra, Village –Kapadgaon to Kalaj, Taluka Phaltan, District – Satara and the project is to be executed in a Joint Venture, of which PELs share is 40%. The said project is in addition to the previous package announced yesterday received from Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation. Total combined value of the two packages is 452.26 crore and the companys share in these two projects is 180.90 crore.

The order includes works involving construction of pipe line distribution network for Nira Deoghar Right Bank main canal.The said project is located in Maharashtra, Waghoshi to Kapadgaon village at Khandala in Satara and is to be completed in a period of 30 months. The project is to be executed in a joint venture, of which PELs share is 40%.Rupen Patel, chairman & managing director said, “To achieve more crop per drop replacement of existing canals with pipe lines or new schemes with pipe lines wherever feasible in order to improve irrigation efficiency or to further extend the area of irrigated agriculture is the need of the hour. As there is significant use of water for irrigation, we need to increase water use efficiency in the agriculture sector. This has been made possible by adopting PDN as it overcomes the lacunas of the flow irrigation system viz land acquisition, lavish use of water from the farmers in the upper reaches of the canal and in high cost in hilly areas.”Patel Engineering is a civil construction company that specializes in hydropower and irrigation projects.The consolidated net profit jumped 17.8% to Rs 43.40 crore in Q1 FY24 as compared with Rs 36.83 crore in Q1 FY23. The LoA is received from NHPC, which was declared as L1 earlier.The project includes construction of head race tunnels including intake, pressure shafts, penstocks, power house & transformer cavern, tail race tunnels, pothead yard, adits etc. for Dibang multipurpose project 2,880 MW (12 X 240 MW) in Arunachal Pradesh.The project is to be completed in 86 months. The value of the project stood at Rs 3,637.12 crore. Patel Engineering announced that, the Company along with the JV Partner has received letter of award for Dibang Multipurpose Project for construction of civil works for Lot-4 from NHPC, which was declared as L1 earlier. The Company being 50% partner in the JV, its share in the project is Rs. 1,818.56 crore. The project entails the construction of Head Race Tunnels including Intake, Pressure Shafts, Penstocks, Power House & Transformer Cavern, Tail Race Tunnels, Pothead Yard, Adits etc. for Dibang Multipurpose Project 2880 MW (12 X 240 MW).
