The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) is under the Ministry of Finance and plays a pivotal role in formulating policies and guidelines concerning the functioning and performance of public sector enterprises in India.Navratna Companies are a group of companies in the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) that have enhanced financial autonomy. The Government of India initially awarded the Navratna status to nine public sector undertakings (PSUs) in 1997. Over the years, the list of Navratna Companies has expanded to 14, including some top PSUs such as Bharat Electronics Limited (BHEL), Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), etc.Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF) is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of fertilizers and industrial chemicals. As on 30 June 2023, the Government of India held 75% stake in the company.The companys consolidated net profit tumbled 77.4% to Rs 67.79 crore on 18.4% decline in revenue from operations to Rs 4,042.95 crore in Q1 FY24 over Q1 FY23.
