What Is Pi Network? Pi Network is a social cryptocurrency, developer platform, and ecosystem designed for widespread accessibility and real-world utility. Supply Model and Mining Mechanism The Maximum Supply of Pi is 100 billion tokens. The Maximum Supply is comprised of the following: 65 Billion tokens (or 65%) are allocated for all community mining rewards; 10 billion (10%) are allocated for foundation reserves; 5 billion (5%) are allocated for liquidity purposes; and 20 billion (20%) are allocated for the Core Team. Since every allocation tracks the Migrated Mining Rewards of the community, the Effective Total Supply can be calculated by dividing the current Migrated Mining Rewards of Pi on the Mainnet blockchain by 65%. The other allocations within the Effective Total Supply can then be calculated based on the same proportions as the Maximum Supply, e.g. at most 10% of the Effective Total Supply is available in the foundation reserve, 5% of the Effective Total Supply is available for liquidity purposes, and 20% of the Effective Total Supply is available for the Core Team. This remains true despite the fact that all tokens were minted at the genesis as technically required by the blockchain protocol.  Circulating Supply includes all Migrated Mining Rewards and all tokens that entered circulation from other buckets of the allocations, which at its maximum could be summed up to equal the Effective Total Supply.   Pi’s mining rewards are distributed based on an issuance formula that follows a declining exponential model defined in the Pi whitepaper. Users can increase the amount of mining rewards they receive based on their individual contributions to the network, like Security Circles, using utility-based Pi apps, running Nodes, etc. For each month, the amount of Pi to be distributed as mobile balance is capped and determined by the model, regardless of how many people or how many types of mining rewards there are during the month. The capping is achieved by the design of a system-wide base mining rate, and each type of mining rewards to each individual are just a multiplier of this base mining rate. As the monthly supplies always diminish, the base mining rate generally decreases over time.   Fewer Pi may also be issued because the real Pi issuance on the blockchain depends on Pioneers passing KYC and completing all steps required for migration to the Mainnet. Despite all efforts to facilitate and remind Pioneers to complete those required steps, there are always dropoffs along the way, resulting in less than all outstanding mobile balances to be issued on the blockchain. Because of this mechanism, the community issued amount (Migrated Mining Rewards) on the blockchain will likely be closer and closer to a line lower than the 65 billion. This is thus the reason for the variable Effective Total Supply which incorporates this effect. Effective Total Supply results from all Migrated Mining Rewards divided by 65%, as opposed to the Maximum Supply of 100 billion.  Ecosystem and Adoption Pi Network has built an integrated ecosystem that facilitates real-world transactions and decentralized applications. Pi can be used as a medium of exchange for goods and services, including online commerce and local brick-and-mortar businesses.  Users can engage with Core Team and community-built apps in the Pi ecosystem through the Pi Browser, where integrated features like the Pi Wallet provide a seamless experience. The electric vehicle maker’s shares recently probed all-time lows, but are making a turn to the upside this week. Investing.com -- Waymo is projected to account for 10% of U.S. rideshare trips by the end of 2030, according to new estimates from Wells Fargo.

Morgan Stanley on Thursday raised its price target on XPeng (XPEV) to $28 from $26 while keeping an ‘Overweight’ rating on the shares.The new price target implies a 37% upside to the stock’s closing price on Wednesday.Constant competition and year-to-date stock outperformance "may aggravate near-term volatility," Morgan Stanley noted. However, the firm stays constructive on XPeng's model pipeline and AI-related initiatives.Morgan Stanley views the G7, powered by the in-house developed AI Turing chip, which XPeng launched at a pre-sale price of RMB235,800 ($32,781), as "just the first step in pioneering a breakthrough," the analyst said.XPeng unveiled the G7, an all-electric mid-size SUV, on Wednesday. The company plans to start delivering the vehicle in the third quarter. XPeng Gets A Price Target Hike From Morgan Stanley, Retail Wonders What Happened To Short Sellers

The new price of $28 target implies a 37% upside to the stock’s closing price on Wednesday. 

Auto parts suppliers across the world have raised alarm bells that China’s curb on rare earth exports is threatening to cripple production."Immediate and decisive action is needed to prevent widespread disruption and economic fallout across the vehicle supplier sector," U.S.-based MEMA, the Vehicle Suppliers Association, said to Reuters.The concerns raised by the American supplier group echo the call for help from European counterparts.Several European auto supplier plants and production lines have reportedly been shut down due to China’s curbs on the critical components, CNBC reported, citing Europe’s auto supplier association CLEPA.Since April, China, the top supplier of rare earth magnets, has required exporters to obtain licenses before shipping, following a tit-for-tat tariff war initiated by Donald Trump’s steep reciprocal tariffs.Rare earth elements are used in a variety of products, including combustion engines and electric vehicles.According to a CNBC report, CLEPA reportedly stated that hundreds of export license applications have been submitted to the Chinese authorities since early April, but only around 25% have been approved.According to the report, the top German car industry lobby, VDA, has also warned that export restrictions could soon lead to production being halted.Last week, Trump accused China of not honoring a preliminary trade deal between the two countries.U.S. carmakers are already facing supply shortages. Auto Part Suppliers Demand Urgent Steps To Stabilize Rare Earth Supplies Amid China’s Retaliatory Curbs

Several European auto supplier plants have reportedly been shut down due to China’s curbs on the critical components.

Multiple brokerages lowered their price target on Chinese EV maker Nio Inc. (NIO) after the company reported disappointing first-quarter earnings on Tuesday.The firm reported total revenue of RMB12.03 billion ($1.67 billion), representing an increase of 21.5% year-over-year (YoY), but below an analyst estimate of RMB12.46 billion, as per Finchat data.Adjusted and diluted net loss per share was RMB3.01, compared with a loss of RMB2.39 in the first quarter of 2024, and higher than the expected loss of RMB2.38.Subsequently, Mizuho lowered the firm's price target on Nio to $3.50 from $4 while keeping a ‘Neutral’ rating on the shares. The new price target represents a 13% upside to the stock’s closing price on Tuesday.While Chinese competition remains strong, the firm says Nio’s June quarter delivery guidance is stronger, with 2025 model year refreshes and brands Onvo and Firefly continuing to ramp up. Nio Stock Gets Multiple Price Target Reductions After Disappointing Q1 Results: But Retail’s Optimistic

NYSE-listed shares of Chinese EV maker Nio Inc. Nio Q1 Earnings Disappoint Investors: Retail Sees Stock Hitting $2

Chinese EV maker XPeng Motors (XPEV) <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/05/28/3089739/0/en/XPENG-Redefines-Mainstream-EV-Market-with-MONA-M03-Max-World-s-Only-AI-Powered-Smart-Driving-at-US-20-000.html">launched</a> the Max variant of its all-electric hatchback sedan MONA M03 in China on Wednesday, sending NYSE-listed shares of the company trading 1% higher midday.The Mona M03 is priced under the $20,000 or RMB 150,000 segment in China. XPeng debuted the MONA M03 in August and started deliveries in September. The company has delivered 120,000 units of the vehicle as of May 2025.With the launch of the MONA M03 Max variant, the company has introduced a city-level advanced drive assistance system (ADAS) to the $20,000 price point, XPeng said, adding that the ADAS system, called AI Turing Smart Driving, is the only advanced ADAS available in this price segment globally.No added cost or subscriptions are required to access the company’s smart driving system, which can accurately detect over 50 road elements from traffic signs to complex obstacles, the company said.The vehicle also features a smart cockpit with features outperforming higher-priced vehicles, as well as the previously launched MONA M03 variant, the company said. The Max variant offers two range options of 600 km and 502 km.Earlier this month, XPeng reported first-quarter earnings that surpassed Wall Street expectations owing to strong vehicle deliveries of 94,008 units.
