Smart contracts are self-executing programs written in Solidity that automatically carry out agreements when conditions are met, eliminating intermediaries like banks or brokers.   Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. REGENXBIO said that the participant had received intracisternal RGX-111 four years prior.The company said that an investigation into whether this serious adverse event (SAE) is drug-related is ongoing, and that causality has not been established yet.While the SAE involved a patient in the RGX-111 trial, the FDA has also placed a hold on the RGX-121 gene therapy, citing the similarities in products, study populations, and shared risk between the clinical studies, the company said.“These are separate therapies, and the positive safety profile of RGX-121 in more than 30 patients treated, including those dosed nearly seven years ago, remains unchanged,” said REGENXBIO CEO Curran Simpson.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Did REGENXBIO’s Experimental Therapies Treat?</h2>The RGX-111 gene therapy is aimed at treating MPS I, also known as Hurler syndrome. (AVR) jumped sharply in pre-market trading on Wednesday after the structural heart specialist unveiled a $200 million equity raise alongside a sizable strategic investment from healthcare technology heavyweight Medtronic.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/AVR">AVR shares</a> were up around 17% at the time of writing and were on track to open at their highest levels since March 2025.Anteris announced a proposal to raise $200 million via a public offering of its common stock and grant underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional $30 million of shares at the public offering price.In a separate release, the company said the offer is to sell around 34.8 million shares at $5.75, the stock’s closing price on Tuesday.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Medtronic Investment</h2>Alongside the public offering, Anteris entered into a stock purchase agreement with Medtronic plc (MDT). Under the deal, Medtronic, through a wholly owned unit, will invest up to $90 million in Anteris common stock via a private placement priced in line with the public offering. The transaction is expected to give Medtronic a post-offering ownership stake of between 16% and 19.99% in Anteris.Proceeds from the transactions will be used to support Anteris’ clinical strategy, including continued patient recruitment and execution of the global PARADIGM pivotal trial for the DurAVR Transcatheter Heart Valve (THV) in severe aortic stenosis, expanding manufacturing capacity, and funding ongoing research and development (R&amp;D) at v2vmedtech, a privately owned medical technology company.The DurAVR THV is a biomimetic valve designed to mimic the performance of a healthy aortic valve.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Is Retail Saying?</h2>On Wednesday, retail sentiment for AVR flipped to ‘extremely bullish’ from ‘bearish’ a day earlier, while message volumes increased to ‘extremely high’ from ‘normal’ on Stocktwits. NVAX Stock Rises Pre-Market As Pfizer Licenses Its Vaccine Technology

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>ANKTIVA is an Interleukin-15 (IL-15) receptor agonist that helps develop and activate key cells that work to destroy cancer cells.</li><li>The company presented an overview of the clinical status of its papillary disease program, including more than five years of follow-up data.</li><li>The data demonstrated strong bladder preservation outcomes.</li></ul>ImmunityBio (IBRX) shares rose 6% in pre-market trading on Tuesday after the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) outlined a pathway for resubmitting its supplemental biologics license application (sBLA) for ANKTIVA in Bacillus Calmette Guérin (BCG)-unresponsive papillary bladder cancer, without requesting new trials.&nbsp;The company said it recently met with the FDA for a Type B end-of-phase meeting to review data spanning over five years.<h2 class="st-heading-2">The FDA Meeting</h2>During the meeting, ImmunityBio presented more than five years of follow-up data supporting the papillary disease indication. Long-term results, published in The Journal of Urology, showed bladder cancer–specific survival of around 96% at three years, with median survival not yet reached.The data also demonstrated strong bladder preservation outcomes, with cystectomy avoidance rates of 92% at one year and 82% at three years, alongside a safety profile consistent with ANKTIVA’s currently approved use in carcinoma in situ (CIS).Based on these discussions, the FDA recommended that ImmunityBio submit additional information for further evaluation to potentially support a resubmission of the sBLA initially filed in 2025. The Agency did not request any new clinical trials.“We have completed the assembly and analysis of the requested additional information and will submit it within the next 30 days for the Agency’s review,” said Richard Adcock, President and CEO of ImmunityBio.ANKTIVA is an Interleukin-15 (IL-15) receptor agonist. IL-15 is an immune system protein that helps develop and activate key cells that work to destroy cancer cells.
