Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) announced on Monday that it is bringing accelerated computing and artificial intelligence to operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, ahead of its fourth-quarter (Q4) earnings expected on Feb. 25.
In a statement, the chipmaker said it is collaborating with leading cybersecurity providers Akamai Technologies Inc. (AKAM), Palo Alto Networks Inc. (PANW), Forescout Technologies, Xage Security, and Siemens AG for the initiative. The move is a bid to advance real-time threat detection and response across critical infrastructure, the company said.
“AI is fundamentally reshaping every business, and as automation scales, safeguarding enterprise data and resources is absolutely critical — but security cannot come at the expense of uptime or resilience,” said Kevin Deierling, Senior Vice President, Networking at Nvidia.
Shares of NVDA were trading 0.12% up at the time of writing, and AKAM shares rose 2.8%. Meanwhile, PANW shares declined about 2.5%.
The Partnerships
Forescout will help Nvidia with zero trust security for OT. NVIDIA BlueField DPUs engage security services on dedicated hardware, separating protection from operational systems. Forescout will provide continuous, agentless discovery and classification of OT, internet of things and IT assets, and deliver real-time risk assessment and policy-based enforcement.
Siemens will integrate NVIDIA BlueField into its AI Industrial Automation DataCenter to deliver secure, zero-trust industrial automation platforms. Meanwhile, Palo Alto Networks will enhance infrastructure-level protection, enabling deep traffic inspection and AI-driven anomaly detection close to workloads, using its Prisma AIRS AI Runtime Security running on BlueField DPUs.
Akamai will deploy its Guardicore Platform to NVIDIA BlueField to provide agentless segmentation and zero-trust policies at the edge. Xage Security will bring zero-trust security to energy infrastructure and AI systems by running on NVIDIA BlueField to protect energy assets, manage third-party access, and secure AI-driven operations at scale.
Earnings Expectations
For Q4, analysts expect Nvidia to report revenue of $66.12 billion, about 68% higher than revenues reported in the same period in 2024, according to data from Fiscal.ai. Meanwhile, the street expects an earnings per share (EPS) of $1.53 for the quarter.
Meanwhile, experts are looking forward to a blowout quarter from the company. Ken Mahoney, president and CEO of Mahoney Asset Management, hoped that with Nvidia being at the epicenter of AI, its latest results would offer clues as to what is happening in the technology sector.
Deepwater Management founder Gene Munster said that the AI data center buildout is only in its “second innings,” and highlighted longer-term growth projections for Nvidia while also adding that Wall Street analysts are overlooking the company’s best-case scenario.
