@DeMampCamp Yes and that’s a great vision but as a public company your shares are for sale every day. There will be some future price at which the company will be sold (perhaps with long term stipulations that it stay in Canada, etc). IMO it would be a mistake to recruit and develop a full global sales and marketing team for Abcellera. Much more efficient and profitable to partner off those functions to highest bidders in big pharma/biotech. That’s what I hope this company does…..in any case I am a LT investor (5-10 yrs) and am happy to wait through the silly antics of the awful shorts…..predict they will be seriously knackered within 6-9 months.

@PolarBear1 @DeMampCamp My thoughts on your valid question.

This company likely now has national security importance and a sale to a company that isn't Canadian likely wouldn't be approved.

Canada once had a manufacturing and R&D vaccine place, Winnipeg if I remember right and it was shut down years ago.

The COVID reality showed how ill prepared Canada was if it needed sovereign public health services like this.

@snowPOW @DeMampCamp ID Biomedical (Vancouver based) bought a vaccine manufacturer in Montreal from GSK about 25 years ago which made it very attractive to Shire who bought out IDB because of that.

There is no current Canadian based company that could afford to BO ABCL.

GSK bought out Biochem Pharma (Montreal) in that era because of its discovery and development of 3TC for HIV/AIDs. Angiotech, QLT and Inex (Vancouver) all flamed out. Xenon and Zymeworks still both going strong.

However, due to the amazing non-dilutive funding ABCL has received (has available to it) from both the BC Provincial and Canadian Federal governments, you may be correct in suggesting there may be some long term operational/employment stipulations.
