The Stocktwits Top 25 reports the 25 best-performing stocks in the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Russell 2000 year to date (YTD), and tracks their performances over time.

The ST Top 25 S&P 500 List was nearly perfect in Week 5.
24/25 closed green.
Oil stocks trended higher. 📈 $OXY increased 8.6%, $XOM marched 8.14%, and $MRO expanded 8.37%.
Schlumberger Limited was the only loser on the list – you can find it in the sinners section below.
Four freshmen appeared on the list. The companies are Chevron Corp, People’s United Financial, Valero Energy, and Citizens Financial Group.
The Stocktwits Top 25 S&P 500 Momentum Meter added 4.48% and the S&P 500 spiked 1.55%. The differential of 2.93% indicates that the top corporations continue to outperform the market as a whole.

The ST Top 25 N100 List made back last week’s losses.
17 out of 25 stocks traded positive.
T-Mobile US was an earnings winner in Week 5. $TMUS gained 11.31% and took the 8th spot on the list as a freshman.
5 new names made the list. The stocks include $TMUS, $GOOGL, $NTES, $XLNX, and $QCOM.
The ST Top 25 Nasdaq 100 Momentum Meter rose 3.31% while the full Nasdaq 100 appreciated 1.66%. The 1.65% differential demonstrates that the best-performing equities continue to outperform the index as a whole.

The ST Top 25 R2K List was lit in Week 5.
23 of 25 stocks closed higher.
Allegheny Technologies accelerated 23.36% and took the Top Dawg honors. 💪
Tidewater Inc was the list’s only loser, tanking 7.74%.
The list’s Freshmen are $TLMD, $NEX, $ATI, $IMUX, $REPX, $HP, $FRBK, $ALBO, $MUR, $BTU, $EOLS, and $PTEN.
The ST Top 25 R2K Momentum Meter exploded 28.41% while the Russell 2000 index jumped 1.72%. The 26.69% advantage in favor of the top stocks shows that the index as a whole continues to lose momentum.

ST Top 25 TOP DAWG OF THE WEEK 🐶
The ST Top 25 Top Dawg for Week 5, 2022 is #7 R2K – Allegheny Technologies.
Allegheny Technologies had a stellar showing in the fifth week of the year. The specialty metals company smashed earnings and sales estimates on Wednesday, paving the way for a top-ten ranking on the list.
$ATI closed green four days this week, including an 17.07% gain on Wednesday. The stock now sits at 8-month highs.
The company’s board of directors also authorized a $150 million share repurchase on Wednesday. 👀

△ #15 S&P 500 – Marathon Petroleum Corp climbed eight rankings on the ST Top 25 S&P 500 List from #23 to #15. The American petroleum refining company was the largest gainer on the list.
$MPC’s earnings and sales numbers came in much above Wall St’s estimates. Revenue grew more than 95% YoY.

△ #8 N100 – T-Mobile US debuted on the ST Top 25 N100 List this week as a freshman. The wireless network company claimed the eighth spot behind Electronic Arts.
$TMUS took off 10.2% on Thursday after predicting customer growth in 2022 that was higher than most analysts’ expectations. $TMUS anticipates adding 5–5.5 million new customers this year.

$TMUS is now up 4.28% in 2022.
△ #1 R2K – SOC Telemed soared 366% and took the top spot on the ST Top 25 R2K List as a freshman.
$TLMD increased 343% on Thursday after Patient Square Capital agreed to purchase the acute care telemedicine company for $3/share, or a 366% premium to the stock’s closing price on Wednesday.
SOC Telemed’s CEO, Dr. Chris Gallagher, said:
“We believe that as a private company, with the expertise and support of the team at Patient Square Capital, SOC Telemed will be best positioned to meet the growing needs of patients, physicians and our hospital partners.”
$TLMD is now up 121.09% YTD.

The Sinners 📉
△ #6 S&P 500 – Schlumberger Limited lowered four rankings from #2 to #6 and was the only loser on the ST Top 25 S&P 500 List in Week 5.
$SLB closed negative four days this week while other energy names were ripping into new highs. The energy ETF $XLE even increased 5% for the week.

▼ #18 R2K – Tidewater Inc tumbled 7.74% in Week 5 and was the biggest loser of all lists. The oil company was demoted from #3 to #18 on the ST Top 25 R2K List.
On Monday, $TDW dropped 8%, which led to more weakness to come as the stock closed negative for two more sessions.
