  • The CEO also said that Nvidia’s $10 billion investment in rival Anthropic would also potentially be its last round.

Nvidia Corp.'s CEO, Jensen Huang, said the semiconductor company's recent $30 billion investment in the artificial intelligence startup OpenAI was potentially the last investment before it went public.

Huang said at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference on Wednesday that the potential to invest an additional $100 billion in the startup, as discussed in a deal in September, was probably not slated for before the initial public offering.

“The reason for that is because they're gonna go public. I'm fairly sure that if we provide the capacity they need, which the compute capacity they need, which we're ramping up hard to go to, the revenues will more than follow,” Huang said.

The CEO added that Nvidia’s $10 billion investment in rival Anthropic would also potentially be its last.

Partnership Details

Nvidia and OpenAI reached a deal in September last year. However, earlier in Feb., Huang reportedly said that the agreement was “never a commitment,” instead hinting that the semiconductor company would participate in the startup’s ongoing $100 billion equity raise.

Both OpenAI and Anthropic are widely touted to go public in 2026.

Meanwhile, Huang provided updates on Nvidia’s partnerships with OpenAI and Anthropic at the conference. He highlighted that the company had expanded OpenAI's capacity from Azure to OCI and AWS as well. “We're ramping AWS like mad. We're ramping them as hard as we can so that OpenAI has access to even more capacity,” he said.

Speaking of Anthropic, Huang said the focus there was also to expand capacity “aggressively” at AWS and Azure.

Huang also highlighted Meta Inc.’s (META) new Superintelligence labs. “A brand-new lab came into the world, and they're in need of a few million GPUs, and that's MSL. That MSL is a net new on top of Meta,” he said.
