I  own  some  $GVP.  It  has  agreed  to a  buy  out  at  $ 4.10  and  has  been  trading  very  consistently just  under  that  price  for  many  weeks while  waiting on  the  deal  to  close(as  is  normal).  But  this  morning the price  spiked  up  to  $ 4.50  for a  moment.  What  would  cause  this  spike  when  the  BO  is  only  for  $4.10  ? 
Wondering  if  it  pertains to possible  trapped  naked  short  positions  and  could this  be a precursor to a  squeeze  ?
