Miners today are mining Bitcoin using ASIC chip dedicated to only mining Bitcoin, and the hash rate has shot up to peta hashes.  Being the first successful online cryptography currency, Bitcoin has inspired other alternative currencies such as Litecoin, Peercoin, Primecoin, and so on.  The cryptocurrency then took off with the innovation of the turing-complete smart contract by Ethereum which led to the development of other amazing projects such as EOS, Tron, and even crypto-collectibles such as CryptoKitties.

If so, what type of $$$ would they earn?  $100,000,000 for the patents, $50,000,000 for milestones,  and another $50,000,000 one-time royalty payment on future sales of RGX314??? 
 
They move forward as an independent company and can run the CLS-AX trials, pay off some debt,  and create future licenses for small molecules and complement inhibitors  against GA and other diseases?

For Regenxbio I do not see the advantage of engaging in such a transaction, I would argue the organization views cash today at a great premium to potential cash tomorrow at the moment given their recent transaction with HCR. 
 
Though from Abbvie&#39;s perspective things are abit different, lets assign about 150 million of the original initial payment to SCS and about 350 million in cash outflow for the NPDR pivotals. So from Abbvie&#39;s perspective the ~60% of the potential economic benefit is worth atleast 500 million. Lets say operating margins are 70% on RGX-314 and post taxes and misc things Abbvie gets about 35% of that revenue as cashflow to the bottom line. 
 
So from Abbvie&#39;s perspective the ~5% Clearside gets has to be worth atleast 71 million. Though eyeballing it the likely present value of the rest of the costs is probably another ~200 million for the SCS assets. So if Abbvie was interested they would put up atleast 100 million imo, and 20 million to account for milestones.

Well the issue there is most of that money would go to HCR. My general position is that if the data Clearside has produced is not compelling enough for a counter party to bite then they should not force the matter.

@rando321456 @jbal Guessing is all we got at this point.  I sense that CLSD is purposed to make the CLS-AX program happen...outside funding is possible, just surprised it hasn&#39;t happened yet; therefore I see selling off some assets and future royalties is the only other way to fund the program, the value of those assets is subject to competing companies ultimately.

The path of least resistance imo if there are no interested counter parties to CLS-AX is a 20-40 million dollar raise and pivoting the company to some new molecule and seeing if they can drum up any excitement around some phase 1 results while waiting for the licensees to get through their trials. 
 
What is very odd to me is that we haven&#39;t seen a secondary, I expected one in february if there was no interest. 
 
I think either the leadership either became deeply dysfunctional or we&#39;re about to see a buyout or unique transaction that partitions the space.(along the lines of what you said in this post but even more so)

It wouldn’t shock me if they’ve been quietly negotiating something asymmetric, especially if there’s strategic value in CLS-AX or the delivery tech that isn’t obvious on the surface. Dysfunction is possible, but radio silence this long makes me lean more toward a transaction that’s been in motion behind the curtain.
