EDIT-401 edits the LDLR gene so the liver clears LDL after a single treatment. Existing cholesterol drugs need repeated doses. In primates it cut bad cholesterol about 90%, and the reduction held for 10 months. Wells Fargo sees 2027 as the possible turning point for the valuation, if early results show real cholesterol cuts. Patient dosing starts this year, initial safety data in Q1 2027. Shares rose around 4.7% Thursday before giving most of it back.
