Micron is caught in a sharp semiconductor and AI-stock selloff, with traders linking the pressure to fears that election results could bring greater scrutiny or delays to data-center construction and weaken expected memory demand. Bulls call the decline an overreaction given strong results and ongoing demand, while bears warn that AI spending could slow and memory supply may eventually catch up.

Election-related fears that a Democratic-led Congress could tighten AI and data-center rules or slow infrastructure spending are weighing on Nvidia and other chip stocks, even as much of big tech rallied. Traders are split between seeing the selloff as a warning that AI buildout and chip demand could cool, and viewing the policy concerns as overblown because demand may persist or shift to other regions.

Concerns that election results and local opposition could slow U.S. data-center permitting and AI infrastructure growth are weighing on Nebius alongside other neocloud stocks. AppLovins stronger-than-expected quarterly results and upbeat forward guidance, alongside expanded share repurchases, have fueled a sharp rebound after a steep selloff. DRAM is drawing attention amid a sharp selloff in memory and semiconductor stocks, with traders pointing to broader AI-trade de-risking, weakness in South Korean chip shares, and fears that Chinese capacity could pressure memory prices.
