Of the 61 new comm&#39;l-stage oncology focused bios (those that received their 1st FDA approval of a cancer related therapy) since 1/1/13, 27 have been acquired after $DAWN &#39;s announcement yesterday. 
 
The attachment lists those in this peer group that were acquired at gains &amp; losses for shareholders who purchased the bio (using the closing price on the day after FDA approval). 
 
Of the 18 acquired at gains, 16 were acquired within 2 years of approval.  
 
Of the 9 sold at losses, 8 were acquired 2 years + after FDA approval. 
 
3 went bankrupt (NAVB, CLVS, GMDA) not shown on the table. GMDA did not go bankrupt but exited at pennies per share. 
 
Of the 31 still independent today, only 6 trade at higher share prices today than at FDA approval. $IBRX $NUVB $IMCR SNDX ONC &amp; $DCTH . Most of those down since FDA approval trade at meaningfully lower share prices. 
 
History suggests the odds are overwhelming shareholder value is maximized via M&amp;A exit within 2 years of approval within this peer group

You know I don&#39;t know who&#39;s next for a buyout. 
 
Attached is a list of all 30 comm&#39;l-stage oncology focused M&amp;A candidates with market caps over $100MM like Day One (DAWN), noting the date of FDA approval. 
 
If you saw our post from last week, history suggests there will be 3 M&amp;A exits between March &amp; May. We&#39;ve had 1 so who is next? 
 
$URGN (clearly a strong candidate) 
$ZYME (if $JAZZ was in the running for DAWN &amp; lost) 
$FENC has been for sale for years. The CEO &amp; COO were promised huge bonuses if they could find a buyer (I have not read their recent Ks to see if the bonuses are still available). Perhaps now is their time 
$IOVA has doubled over the last month (finally). With 421MM fully diluted shares, their valuation is getting a tad frothy if analyst consensus of $1.1B in peak sales is credible. DCPH projected $1B in peak sales by year 10 post M&amp;A &amp; exited at $2.1B 
 
Invariably, it will be the peer least expected. Who do you think?
