Stocktwits Top 25 – Week 32 📈 

Good evening, everyone. Welcome to the Stocktwits Top 25 newsletter for Week 32 of 2021.

The Stocktwits Top 25 reports the 25 best-performing stocks in the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Russell 2000 year to date (YTD). Our goal is to track the winners and losers over time.

Here are your Stocktwits Top 25 lists for Week 32:


S&P 500

ST Top 25 S&P 500

The ST Top 25 S&P 500 list added to its winning streak in week 32. The list has closed positive for four consecutive weeks.

20 of 25 names closed positive.

Nucor Corp took the top spot on the list. Read more about its strong performance in the Winners section below. 

Diamondback Energy dipped 5.5% and moved from #8 to #18. $FANG was the worst performer on the list this week.

Four Freshmen debuted. The tickers are $GS, $WST, $TXT, and $URI.

The Stocktwits Top 25 S&P 500 Momentum Meter rose 2.62% while the S&P 500 gained 0.71%. The 1.91% differential in favor of the top stocks shows the leading stocks outperformed by a sizable margin.


Nasdaq-100

ST Top 25 Nasdaq 100

The ST Top 25 N100 backtracked a bit in Week 32. 14 names traded higher. 

eBay was the biggest gainer on the list after reporting earnings. Check out $EBAY in the Winners section.

Applied Materials was shown no love. The semiconductor tripped and fell 3 spots from #2 to #5.

Two Freshmen made the list. The companies are Fox Corp and Cisco Systems.

The ST Top 25 Nasdaq 100 Momentum Meter descended 0.06% in Week 32 while the full Nasdaq 100 climbed 0.18%. The 0.24% difference shows the top stocks were a tad bit weaker than the top full index.


Russell 2000

ST Top 25 Russell 2000

The ST Top 25 R2K List rambled on. A select few names pushed the momentum meter into the green. 

21 of 25 names traded higher. 

Cassava Sciences overtook AMC Entertainment as the top-ranked stock on the list. 

Cortexyme Inc climbed 49% and earned the Top Dawg of the week honors. The Freshman is ranked #17.

$SAVA spiked 27.13%, $VRTV launched 29.5%, and $TMST increased 16.5%. 

$CRTX, $TMST, and $RUBY were the list’s Freshmen.

The ST Top 25 R2K Momentum Meter launched 5.62% but the Russell 2000 index tumbled 1.10%. The 6.72% differential suggests top stocks were much stronger than the full index.

ST TOP DAWG OF THE WEEK 🐶

The ST Top 25 Top Dawg for week 32 is #17 R2K – Cortexyme Inc. 

Cortexyme catapulted 49% in Week 32 and entered the ST Top 25 R2K List ranked #17 as a Freshman.

The biotech company ripped 47.3% on Monday after providing a business update re: their ongoing Alzheimer’s drug trial. They also reported Q2 results, here are the stats:

EPS: ($0.74) vs ($0.70) est

The Winners 📈

△ #1 S&P 500 – Nucor Corp crushed the competition on the ST Top 25 S&P 500 List by improving 2 spots to the #1 ranking. $NUE increased 21%.

Nucor Corp. hit a new high on Tuesday after the Senate passed a $550 billion infrastructure plan that is anticipated to boost demand for U.S. steel.

$NUE opened 3.5% higher Wednesday morning and never looked back.

△ #7 N100 – eBay Inc. accelerated 13% to all-time highs this week. $EBAY was the list’s biggest mover, improving 12 spots from #19 to #7.

$EBAY gained 1.28% on Thursday after meeting earnings expectations. The stock ignited from the open on Friday and eventually closed up 7.45%.

EPS: $0.98 vs $0.98 est.
Revenue: $2.68B, +14% YoY

△ #11 R2K – Veritiv Corp made huge strides in Week 32. $VRTV improved from #24 to #11 on the ST Top 25 R2K List by soaring 29.5%.

$VRTV reported record income in Q2 and raised guidance before the bell on Monday. The stock climbed 18.75% on Monday and added 9% on Tuesday.

The Sinners 📉

▼ #5 N100 – Applied Materials punched its ticket to the Sinners list after falling from #2 to #5 on the ST Top 25 N100 List. The semiconductor still sits +50.5% YTD.

$AMAT closed down Monday through Thursday before large volumes of short covering gave the stock a break on Friday.

▼ #18 S&P 500 – Diamondback Energy dropped 5.5% and gave up 10 spots on the ST Top 25 S&P 500 list. 

$FANG has been trading within a range of $75 to $81 for the past four weeks. We’ll see which side breaks first…

$FANG is still up 56.2% YTD.
