Bitcoin is the world's first decentralized cryptocurrency, created in 2009 by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto. It enables peer-to-peer electronic cash transactions without intermediaries like banks or governments, operating on a blockchain secured by Proof of Work mining and the SHA-256 cryptographic algorithm. With a fixed supply cap of 21 million coins and programmatic halvings every four years that reduce miner rewards, Bitcoin is designed as a deflationary digital asset often called "digital gold." Its value stems from solving the double-spending problem without trusted intermediaries, creating the first truly scarce digital asset with censorship resistance and permissionless access that no government, corporation, or individual can control. Bitcoin operates as a decentralized peer-to-peer network where transactions are recorded on a public ledger called the blockchain, distributed across thousands of computers globally. Transactions are grouped into blocks added approximately every 10 minutes through mining, where specialized computers compete to solve complex mathematical puzzles. Bitcoin has achieved mainstream adoption through multiple vectors. The January 2024 SEC approval of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs opened Bitcoin investment to traditional finance participants, and corporations like Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) are using Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset to protect against currency debasement, offering MSTR holders amplified exposure to Bitcoin. The Bitcoin ecosystem continues to evolve with innovations like Ordinals, which emerged in January 2023 to enable NFT-like functionality directly on Bitcoin, and BRC-20 tokens, an experimental standard for creating fungible tokens using Ordinal inscriptions. BTCFi (Bitcoin Finance) represents emerging financial applications extending beyond Bitcoin's traditional role, with protocols like Babylon allowing Bitcoin holders to stake BTC to secure Proof of Stake chains.

Cardano is a blockchain platform built on academic research that enables smart contracts and decentralized applications while using significantly less energy than traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. What sets Cardano apart is its methodical, research-driven approach — every major feature is peer-reviewed by scientists and cryptographers before being added to the network. This careful process aims to create a more secure and stable foundation compared to platforms that prioritize speed over thorough testing. The platform's native cryptocurrency, ADA, is used to send money, pay transaction fees, and participate in network governance. Cardano uses a proof-of-stake system to process transactions, which works differently from Bitcoin's mining approach. Instead of competing to solve complex puzzles, users can "stake" their ADA — essentially locking it up temporarily — to become validators who verify transactions. The system selects validators based on how much ADA they've staked and for how long, then rewards them with additional ADA for their participation. This approach uses far less energy than traditional mining while keeping the network secure. The platform also features a two-layer design that separates basic payment transactions from smart contract operations, allowing each function to be optimized independently for better performance. ADA holders can earn staking rewards by locking up their tokens to help secure the network, vote on proposed changes to the platform, and use ADA for international money transfers with lower fees than traditional services. Cardano was founded in 2017 by Charles Hoskinson, who previously helped create Ethereum. Hoskinson leads Input Output Global (IOG), the technology company that builds and maintains Cardano's core software. The ecosystem operates through three organizations: IOG handles technical development, the Cardano Foundation promotes adoption and standardization, and Emurgo helps businesses integrate blockchain technology into their operations. This structure distributes responsibilities across multiple groups rather than concentrating control in a single entity. In February 2025, major asset manager Grayscale Investments filed to create an exchange-traded fund (ETF) for Cardano with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which would allow traditional investors to buy ADA through their regular brokerage accounts without needing to set up cryptocurrency wallets.

Cardano

ADAs rebound has traders watching for a breakout from its recent consolidation, citing rising volume, a possible golden cross, and resistance near recent highs. Bullish posts point to Mastercard and other adoption developments as support for optimism, while skeptics question whether the news will translate into sustained demand and warn that recent rallies have faded.

Uranium Energy Corp. engages in the provision of uranium and titanium mining and related activities, including exploration, pre-extraction, extraction, and processing of uranium concentrates, and titanium minerals. It operates through the following geographical segments: Wyoming, Texas, Saskatchewan, and Others. The company was founded by Alan P. Lindsay and Amir Adnani on May 16, 2003 and is headquartered in Corpus Christi, TX.

Uranium Energy Corp

UECs fiscal 2026 results have drawn attention: uranium production ramped sharply as the company moved toward multi-mine production, but its quarterly loss missed expectations. Traders are divided between viewing higher output and a debt-free balance sheet as encouraging progress and questioning the selloff, ongoing losses, and ability to turn production into consistent profits.

$EGO during the Q2 2026 earnings call there was dialogue that suggested an analyst meeting is going to be held at Skouries later next week (September 15-18?).

Assuming that is still happening, we could get some clarity at the end of next week or the following week regarding whether the electrical system successfully passed the required inspection (testing was supposed to happen mid August and take 10 days), if the power authorities granted the necessary approval (was supposed to take a few days of paperwork following a successful test), and whether EGO can demonstrate successful concentrate production in line with what would be needed to achieve previously communicated guidance.

In my opinion, the current valuation continues to suggest a lot of skepticism regarding EGO’s ability to meet communicated guidance at Skouries. Positive info next week might help alleviate that skepticism.

@chivo12 it is Greece. Everything is bureaucratic and takes 10x the time it should. No one likes conducting business there - nearly no private equity exists in Greece and this one of the reasons why. They love red tape

@TFriis yes. Interestingly enough, at the end of the day yesterday EGO issued a press release confirming that they successfully produced concentrate yesterday but that the electric certification is still pending and should happen in September. I guess we didn’t have to wait for next week after all.

So good news on concentrate but slight delay on connecting to power grid.

If they do produce the gold and copper as guided, gold prices stay at least in the low to mid $4K range, and they indicate a reasonable debt retirement timeline (rather than another overpriced acquisition), I think valuation could surpass $60-$70 in early 2027.

@chivo12 @TFriis Guys here's another angle on gold: Using flash joule (electricity) in the presence of chlorine to pull the gold out of electronic waste.
* The concentration of gold is exponentially higher on printed circuit boards/e-waste than in any rock, mineral, or ore. This is not an exagerration. And now the tech that takes advantage of that is here: https://youtu.be/FKzROQRhbUg $HMY
