If Americans without 401(k)s got a $1,000 annual match, would it boost investing?

A new retirement proposal would give Americans without employer-sponsored 401(k)s access to a federal-style investment account, with up to a $1,000 annual government match. If implemented, would that meaningfully increase stock market participation?

think about this logically. Non 401K jobs are the lowest earning on average. And typically the people most likely to not invest. If you work from 18-65 that's 47 years of work. Assuming someone maxes out the 401K matching that's 94K saved for retirement....... Who can retire on that. All that to say no.

it'll benefit the largest shareholders! AKA the RICH Asset price inflation, but you benefit the LEAST

Not saying it's impossible but since it's a match that would mean they would have to invest $ 1000 first. If they aren't investing now it might mean they don't have enough money extra to invest.

So it begins....get ready to hear "Superannuation" a lot. Trump will push for this before he leaves from office
