It enables peer-to-peer electronic cash transactions without intermediaries like banks or governments, operating on a blockchain secured by Proof of Work mining and the SHA-256 cryptographic algorithm.   With a fixed supply cap of 21 million coins and programmatic halvings every four years that reduce miner rewards, Bitcoin is designed as a deflationary digital asset often called "digital gold." Its value stems from solving the double-spending problem without trusted intermediaries, creating the first truly scarce digital asset with censorship resistance and permissionless access that no government, corporation, or individual can control.  Bitcoin operates as a decentralized peer-to-peer network where transactions are recorded on a public ledger called the blockchain, distributed across thousands of computers globally. Transactions are grouped into blocks added approximately every 10 minutes through mining, where specialized computers compete to solve complex mathematical puzzles.   Bitcoin has achieved mainstream adoption through multiple vectors. The January 2024 SEC approval of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs opened Bitcoin investment to traditional finance participants, and corporations like Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) are using Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset to protect against currency debasement, offering MSTR holders amplified exposure to Bitcoin.   The Bitcoin ecosystem continues to evolve with innovations like Ordinals, which emerged in January 2023 to enable NFT-like functionality directly on Bitcoin, and BRC-20 tokens, an experimental standard for creating fungible tokens using Ordinal inscriptions. BTCFi (Bitcoin Finance) represents emerging financial applications extending beyond Bitcoin's traditional role, with protocols like Babylon allowing Bitcoin holders to stake BTC to secure Proof of Stake chains.

The network operates through thousands of independent validator nodes that process transactions and execute smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Smart contracts are self-executing programs written in Solidity that automatically carry out agreements when conditions are met, eliminating intermediaries like banks or brokers.   Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. The asset is increasingly adopted by traditional institutions, with publicly traded companies adding ETH to corporate treasuries to generate staking yields while maintaining blockchain exposure, and in 2024, the SEC approved spot Ethereum ETFs, allowing traditional investors to gain exposure through conventional brokerage accounts.  Ethereum's roadmap focuses on dramatically increasing transaction capacity to over 100,000 per second, reducing confirmation times, and enhancing decentralization while maintaining security against future threats like quantum computing.

The platform’s native token, SOL, serves as the primary currency for paying transaction fees, participating in network governance, and securing the system through staking.   Solana has also seen significant institutional adoption ranging from spot Solana ETFs to major partnerships including Visa's 2025 launch of USDC settlement on the network and the tokenization of public equity by firms like Galaxy Digital.

Texas Instruments Unveils $60B Plan To Build 7 US Chip Factories Amid Trump Manufacturing Push

The company said its seven factories will span three manufacturing mega-sites and manufacture “hundreds of millions” of U.S.-made chips daily, while creating over 60,000 new U.S. jobs. 

Shares of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) jumped by nearly 10% on Monday to hit a 6-month high after a price target hike from Piper Sandler, citing the success of AMD’s Advancing AI event last week.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/AMD">AMD’s stock</a> touched&nbsp;an intraday high of $127.95 in midday tradePiper Sandler raised its AMD price target to $140, citing enthusiasm over new product launches unveiled at the company’s AI event, according to a note to investors quoted by TheFly.&nbsp;It said the Helios rack is pivotal to the growth of AMD Instinct, the company’s data center GPU platform for AI and high-performance computing (HPC).The brokerage expects a recovery in the GPU segment by the fourth quarter of 2025 once China-related headwinds ease. It also noted early signs of strength returning to AMD’s client segment.Bank of America (BofA), Roth Capital, and Evercore ISI also raised their price targets on the stock on Friday following the company’s flagship annual event.BofA analyst Vivek Arya, who attended the San Jose event, said AMD demonstrated progress in platform maturity, ecosystem expansion, and software development.&nbsp;While no new hyperscaler customer was confirmed, Arya noted AMD’s expanding partnerships with Meta Platforms (META), Microsoft (MSFT), Oracle (ORCL), OpenAI, and xAI.&nbsp;He also flagged the possibility of an engagement with Amazon’s (AMZN) AWS, a key event sponsor, though AWS typically announces partnerships on its timeline.BofA maintained its ‘Buy’ rating on AMD’s stock with a price target of $130.Roth Capital raised its target to $150, also citing Helios' rack adoption, akin to Piper Sandler, and broader demand for inferencing and agentic AI workloads.&nbsp;Evercore ISI hiked its price target to $144, citing momentum in AMD’s ROCm software stack and growing traction with enterprise AI workloads.Citi, however, remained cautious, holding its $120 price target and ‘Neutral’ rating. AMD Stock Hits 6-Month High After Analysts Boost Price Targets Post AI Event

Analysts said the Helios rack will play a key role in driving growth for AMD’s Instinct GPUs, which power AI and high-performance computing workloads, and could accelerate the company’s broader recovery.

Micron Technology (MU) announced on Thursday that it is expanding its investment in the U.S. to about $200 billion.&nbsp;The company said it will keep aside $150 billion for manufacturing amid U.S. President Donald Trump’s push to onshore the production of semiconductor chips. The company will also dedicate about $50 billion to R&amp;D, Micron said.The firm expects its investment to create 90,000 direct and indirect jobs.The announcement adds $30 billion to Micron’s previous investment plans.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/MU">Micron’s stock</a> edged 0.5% lower in morning trade.&nbsp;The expanded manufacturing footprint will include a second advanced memory fabrication plant in Boise, Idaho, alongside its existing R&amp;D operations, and a major upgrade to its Manassas, Virginia, facility.&nbsp;The company said the Idaho sites will help accelerate the development of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) products and allow it to meet rising global demand for DRAM chips, which are essential in AI and high-performance computing (HPC).“President Trump has made it clear that the time to build in America is now,” said Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. “Micron’s planned investment will ensure the U.S. advances its lead across critical industries like AI, automotive, and aerospace &amp; defense.”Micron’s announcement comes on the heels of major domestic investment pledges from other chipmakers.&nbsp;Nvidia (NVDA) said in April it plans to invest $500 billion over the next four years to build AI server infrastructure in the U.S., in collaboration with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Micron Commits $200B To US Chip Manufacturing In Trump-Led Push

The company plans to keep $150 billion for manufacturing and $50 billion for R&D. 

Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang on Monday described artificial intelligence as the “great equalizer”&nbsp; and touted the U.K. as a prime destination for artificial intelligence investment, pledging to increase the company’s footprint in the country amid surging global demand for advanced computing infrastructure.“The U.K. is in a Goldilocks circumstance,” Huang said at London Tech Week, speaking on stage with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Investment Minister Poppy Gustafsson. “It’s just such an incredible, incredible place to invest. Nvidia is backing a new U.K. sovereign AI industry forum to help strengthen the country's domestic AI infrastructure.

ZJK Industrial (ZJK) said Thursday it plans to scale up production to support Nvidia’s (NVDA) B40 initiative, a specialized AI chip project targeting the Chinese market.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NVDA">Nvidia’s stock</a> edged 0.5% higher at the market open on Thursday, while&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ZJK">ZJK’s stock</a> jumped more than 11%.&nbsp;The B40 is based on Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture and is designed for the mid-to-high-end segment. ZJK said mass production could begin as early as June 2025, positioning the company to benefit from rising demand in the region."The B40 project presents several compelling market advantages. It complements Nvidia's RTX Pro 6000 workstation graphics cards currently being sold worldwide," ZJK CEO Ning Ding said in a statement. ZJK Ramps Up Production To Back Nvidia’s China-Focused B40 Chip

ZJK Industrial CEO Ning Ding stated that the company anticipates B40 chip shipments to surpass one million units by the end of 2025.

Nvidia’s (NVDA) shares remained flat in pre-market trade on Thursday despite a price target hike by Daiwa Capital Markets&nbsp;analyst, who stated that the&nbsp;chipmaker is “back in the driver’s seat.”The brokerage raised its price target on the chipmaker to $165 from $115, implying an upside of approximately 16% from Wednesday’s close, and maintained an ‘Outperform’ rating, as&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/05/nvidia-is-back-in-the-drivers-seat-after-latest-earnings-daiwa-says.html">cited</a> by CNBC.Daiwa Capital Markets analyst Louis&nbsp;Miscioscia said the AI bellwether’s first quarter (Q1) earnings were impressive. He highlighted growing demand from key customers like Microsoft (MSFT), OpenAI, and Google for AI inference, suggesting that these tech giants are expanding their use of Nvidia’s AI hardware.“We are back in a rally phase given good quarterly growth and the same expectation for 2025,”&nbsp;Miscioscia wrote. “CEO [Jensen] Huang suggests that AI demand is accelerating with many more areas to grow into.”Miscioscia expects more clarity at Nvidia’s upcoming GTC event in Paris on June 11, where the company is likely to share updates on its AI chip roadmap.&nbsp;He also said the rollout of Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture is “going very well” and projected that gross margins could return to the mid-70% range later this year.Out of the 63 analysts covering Nvidia’s stock, 56 give it a ‘Buy’ Or ‘Strong Buy’ rating, while six said ‘Hold,’ and only one has a ‘Sell’ rating. Daiwa Capital Markets analyst Louis Miscioscia expects more clarity at Nvidia’s upcoming GTC event in Paris on June 11, where the company is likely to share updates on its AI chip roadmap. 

Broadcom (AVGO) shares hit an all-time high of $257.88 on Tuesday after the company announced it has begun shipping the Tomahawk 6 switch series, which delivers 102.4 terabits per second of switching capacity–double the bandwidth of any existing Ethernet switch and the highest ever achieved in a single chip.The stock trimmed earlier gains but remained up by 2% in afternoon trading.“Tomahawk 6 is not just an upgrade–it’s a breakthrough,” said Ram Velaga, senior vice president and general manager of Broadcom’s Core Switching Group.&nbsp;He said the product delivers high bandwidth, energy efficiency, and adaptive routing to handle growing demand from AI operators.The chip includes features such as real-time congestion control, telemetry, and rapid failover under a system Broadcom calls “Cognitive Routing 2.0.” These tools are optimized for large AI workloads, including reinforcement learning and model tuning.Broadcom’s networking chips are becoming increasingly central to the buildout of AI data centers.&nbsp;The scale of modern AI applications requires infrastructure that can support networks of tens or even hundreds of thousands of graphics processors. This level of connectivity demands advanced switching hardware capable of handling massive data flows without latency or power inefficiencies.Tomahawk 6 is the first in the series to use a chiplet-based architecture, combining multiple smaller chips into a single package. Broadcom Stock Hits All-Time High After Starting Shipments Of Record-Breaking 102Tbps Ethernet Switch

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC)&nbsp;chief executive officer C.C. Wei said Tuesday that U.S. tariffs are creating some business pressure, although indirectly, and warned that rising costs could affect operations as the company invests heavily in new U.S. chip facilities.“Tariffs do have some impact on TSMC, but not directly. That’s because tariffs are imposed on importers, not exporters. TSMC is an exporter. However, tariffs can lead to slightly higher prices, and when prices go up, demand may go down,” Wei said at the company’s annual shareholders meeting, as&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/climate-energy/tsmc-says-tariffs-have-some-impact-ai-demand-robust-2025-06-03/">cited</a> by Reuters.&nbsp;Many U.S. chip designers, including Apple (AAPL), Nvidia (NVDA), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Qualcomm (QCOM), rely on TSMC to fabricate their most advanced chips.“If demand drops, TSMC’s business could be affected. But I can assure you that AI demand has always been very strong and it's consistently outpacing supply,” he added.Wei said TSMC had discussed the impact of tariffs with the U.S. Commerce Department and warned that levies could raise costs at its Arizona manufacturing sites, where the company is investing $165 billion.&nbsp;“The U.S. Commerce Department said this is open for discussion, but how long that will take remains unclear,” Wei said. “The real point is that we are in active communication, because only through understanding can they realise the consequences.”He also reiterated that the additional $100 billion in investment announced in March alongside President Donald Trump will be challenging to deliver on schedule. “He said, ‘Mr Wei, do your best, that’s good enough.’”Wei dismissed speculation about a potential expansion to the United Arab Emirates, stating that TSMC has “no plans” for a Middle East facility and that it is “not very likely” the company would have customers there.Domestically, the appreciation of the Taiwan dollar has shaved more than three percentage points off TSMC’s gross margin, Wei noted, reiterating concerns shared during the company’s earnings call in April.<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://www.stocktwits.com/symbol/TSM">TSM’s stock</a> has fallen 1% this year but gained more than 25% over the past 12 months. TSMC CEO Says AI Demand Strong, But Trump’s Tariffs Still a Risk

Nvidia (NVDA) and Dell Technologies (DELL) are teaming up with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to build its ‘Doudna’ supercomputer, the agency announced Thursday.Slated to launch in 2026, Doudna will be housed at the DOE’s National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC).&nbsp;The system will be built using Dell’s advanced liquid-cooled server architecture and Nvidia’s newly announced Vera Rubin platform, which combines GPUs and CPUs optimized for both AI and high-performance computing (HPC).According to the DOE, Doudna will deliver more than ten times the performance of Perlmutter, NERSC’s current flagship supercomputer.&nbsp;Its capabilities are expected to enhance research in molecular dynamics, high-energy physics, and artificial intelligence, supporting both training and inference at scale.“Doudna is a time machine for science–compressing years of discovery into days,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.The supercomputer is named after Jennifer Doudna, the Berkeley Lab-based biochemist and Nobel laureate credited with co-discovering the gene-editing technology CRISPR.NERSC Director Sudip Dosanjh stated the lab is working with Nvidia and Dell to help its 11,000 users prepare for the system’s new capabilities. “The Doudna supercomputer is designed to accelerate a broad set of scientific workflows,” he said.Beyond traditional HPC, Doudna will support quantum simulation research using Nvidia’s CUDA-Q platform. This includes the development of large-scale quantum algorithms, modeling of quantum systems, and co-design of future hybrid quantum-HPC systems.The system will feature Dell Integrated Rack Scalable Systems and PowerEdge servers equipped with Nvidia accelerators.&nbsp;It will also include Nvidia Quantum-X800 InfiniBand networking and data infrastructure capable of handling automated, AI-driven workflows and interactive computing across multiple facilities.The DOE said Doudna will be used to integrate AI more deeply into modeling and simulation tasks across scientific disciplines, from biomolecular modeling to materials design.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NVDA">Nvidia’s stock</a> edged 0.5% lower in pre-market trade on Friday.
