<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Raoul Pal said on Friday crypto’s recent drawdown was a "mid-cycle fall," not the end of a full cycle.</li><li>He said a leverage flush still has to come before the market can really move higher.</li><li>He said the "economic singularity" arrives around 2030, when AI agents become a productive population.</li></ul><p>Global Macro Investor founder Raoul Pal said on Friday that crypto's drawdown was a "mid-cycle fall and not a full cycle," and that the market's biggest move would come later this decade, when AI agents push the economy into an "economic singularity" around 2030.</p><p>In an interview on the Crypto Insider podcast, Pal&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duuSl3W3Clc">explained</a> that the current setup resembled 2019 and 2020, when Bitcoin traded flat for months before the rally that took it to record highs in 2021, trading above $65,000 in November of the year.&nbsp;</p><p>He said the four-year cycle fooled people. Traders waited for one last dip that did not come, and the buying since has come from those who missed it. He added one caution, however. A quick leverage flush still has to happen before the market can really get going, according to Pal.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Why Bitcoin Lagged?</h2><p>Liquidity is driving both, not the headlines or the earnings, according to macro investor Raoul Pal. “Bitcoin is 87% correlated with global liquidity; the Nasdaq is 97% correlated.” That gap explains part of the split this year. The Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) has gained 16.46% year-to-date. Bitcoin fell almost 4% over the same period. Liquidity makes Bitcoin swing harder, said Pal, because it’s young, volatile and emotional. “It is running cold," he said.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/IXIC_2026_09_26_06_03_51_daa5ab422a.png" alt="IXIC_2026-09-26_06-03-51.png" width="2802" height="2159"><figcaption>Bitcoin has lagged the Nasdaq in 2026, with BTC down nearly 4% YTD while the Nasdaq Composite is up 16.46%. Source: TradingView</figcaption></figure><p>The token peaked above $126,000 in October last year, and has spent 2026 well below that level, trading flat, before reaching an&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/doge-sui-sol-xrp-rally-faster-than-bitcoin-as-btc-hits-8-month-high/cZMPjaQRBe0">eight-month high</a> last week.</p><p>Liquidity grew in the US but not by much, he said. Measured against gross domestic product (GDP) growth, excess liquidity was barely positive and often slightly negative. That left enough capital to fund one trade, and that trade was AI. "AI has paused, and crypto's gone," Pal said.&nbsp;He described the move as a rotation rather than fresh money entering the market.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Liquidity Runs Past 2027</h2><p>The debt cycle would normally put liquidity into the first half of 2027 before stalling, Pal said. He thinks it will run longer this time. Two things will extend it, according to Pal. The government has been issuing its debt at the short end of the curve, and the AI capex supercycle needs funding of its own. That gives the market two sources of liquidity rather than one. He said traders should watch the dollar above all.&nbsp;</p><p>A weaker dollar was the signal, he said, and that is when crypto and gold tend to move.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">The Singularity Trade</h2><p>Beyond the liquidity cycle, Pal said the growth engine changed. He called AI and robots "digital immigrants," a new population joining the “workforce as infinite numbers.” That lifted productivity and let GDP growth outpace debt growth, which was how the debt problem would be resolved. Pal put that turnaround by 2030, calling it the "economic singularity,” and said that GDP growth could reach 20% to 30% in the early 2030s.</p><p>Pal said the shift was already visible in company numbers. He said the technology companies stopped hiring three years ago, and that revenue per employee at Meta (META) has since doubled. At Nvidia (NVDA), he said the figure went from $2 million to $10 million per employee, and Amazon (AMZN) began investing in robotics in 2019 and will have more robots than humans working for it by next year.</p><p>Crypto, however, was the rail, according to Pal. He said AI agents needed a coordination layer for value and identity, and that blockchains were well suited to it. He said he held Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Sui (SUI) for that reason.</p><p><a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin’s price</a> was down by 0.5% over the past 24 hours, while the apex cryptocurrency&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin">fell from the $ 85,000 range</a>. This month is also on track to become the most expensive September on record, with the monthly average at $4.3 so far, above the previous record of $3.83 set in 2023.</p><p>The increase comes as U.S. gasoline demand rose last week to 8.84 million barrels per day from 8.79 million while domestic gasoline supplies declined, according to data from the Energy Information Administration.</p><p>California is the most expensive gasoline market in the U.S., with an average price of $6.23 per gallon, followed by Hawaii at $5.57, and Washington at $5.54, according to AAA data. According to the company, its AI models bypassed digital security barriers, disrupted website accessibility, or negatively affected services while conducting testing routines.</p><p>“Some of the websites involved are operated by governments, universities, public agencies, and other institutions. That is partly because models performing research tasks are often directed toward authoritative sources of public information,” OpenAI wrote in the blog post.</p><p>&nbsp; The broader investigation was launched after OpenAI discovered that one of its models had inadvertently breached Hugging Face, a popular platform for sharing AI tools, several months ago.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Australian Government Database Targeted</strong></h2><p>The disclosure comes shortly after OpenAI acknowledged that one of its models infiltrated an Australian government website earlier this year, representing one of the first documented cases of an AI system executing an unauthorized cyber intrusion on a government database.</p><p>Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed the June 18 incident, explaining that the technology gained unauthorized entry into a portal used for processing healthcare statistics. The factory is designed for 50,000 trucks a year—about 1,000 a week—and every variant will run on the same line.</p><p>The production truck is a ground-up redesign of the 2017 concept. Unofficial quotes put the 500-mile range version of the truck near $290,000. Deliveries “start now,” the company said.</p><p>CEO Elon Musk skipped the event for President Trump’s state dinner with China’s Xi Jinping. The evening closed with a Roadster teaser ahead of an Oct. 1 reveal in Waco, Texas.</p><p>Separately, the European Union also pushed back a vote on bloc-wide approval for the company’s FSD driver assistance software to December at the earliest on Friday, later than the October timeline the company expected. Musk responded to the delay in a post on X with a brief, “Sigh.”</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Rivian: Big Camera Recall, Cheaper Roadmap</h2><p>Earlier this week, Rivian recalled about 98,800–100,700 vehicles—most of its R1S, R1T and early R2 fleet—after a software bug that could overlay notifications on the rearview camera in reverse. No crashes were reported. The fix is an over-the-air update and has already been rolled out to most of the affected fleet. &nbsp;</p><p>CEO RJ Scaringe also told The New York Times the forthcoming R3 vehicle will be priced “materially lower” than the R2, with an R4 cheaper still. The R2 launch trim is priced near $60,000; a $45,000 base is slated for late 2027. Rivian started delivering R2 in June; the R3 is not expected before 2028.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Ford: F-150 Lines Go Dark</h2><p>Ford canceled all F-150 production crews at Dearborn Truck Plant from Sept. 24 through Sept. 29 and cut some Kansas City shifts over an unspecified supplier problem and plant repairs, Reuters reported on Friday, while adding that the production of F-series at other plants was also affected. Kentucky Truck Plant raised truck output to offset losses, the report said.</p><p>F-Series sales, including the F-150 Lightning truck, were already down about 11% through August.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">GM, Stellantis, Ford: Expected To Lose Ground To Asian Carmakers In Q3, Says Cox</h2><p>Detroit’s traditional auto giants are expected to lose further ground to Asian rivals in the third quarter, with Cox Automotive forecasting Ford (F) to fall behind Hyundai Motor Group (HYMTF) in U.S. vehicle sales.</p><p>Cox expects Ford to sell 504,172 vehicles in the third quarter (Q3), down 7.1% from last year, while Hyundai is forecast to sell 511,421 vehicles, up 6.5% year over year. General Motors (GM) is expected to remain the top-selling U.S. automaker in Q3, despite sales expected to fall more than 5.2%. For Lilly, the pact adds another China-origin discovery alliance to a year already crowded with acquisitions.</p><p>Novo Nordisk (<a class="mention" data-mention="$NVO" data-symbol-id="NVO" href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NVO" target="_blank">NVO</a>) licensed Nanexa’s PharmaShell coating technology for long-acting peptide injectables in obesity, type 2 diabetes and other cardiometabolic uses. The exclusive global deal covers up to five programs and aims at monthly or quarterly dosing. Nanexa can earn up to €1.165 billion (about $1.33 billion), including €615 million in upfront payments and development and regulatory milestones, plus low single-digit royalties. Novo will run development and sales.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Abbvie And Novartis Add Smaller Tickets</h2><p>AbbVie (ABBV) began a multi-year AI discovery alliance with Iambic covering small molecules in immunology, neuroscience and oncology. Iambic gets an undisclosed upfront payment, plus milestones and royalties. Iambic filed for a Nasdaq IPO the same week.</p><p>Novartis (NVS) licensed a preclinical radioligand from BoomRay in a deal worth up to $900 million plus royalties. The upfront was not disclosed.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">How Do The Fresh Deals Differ?</h2><p>This week’s biotech deals were smaller and more modular than the company-buying wave that opened 2026. In January, AstraZeneca licensed eight obesity and diabetes programs from China’s CSPC for up to $18.5 billion. February and March then brought full takeovers: Gilead paid about $7.8 billion for Arcellx’s late-stage CAR-T franchise, Lilly paid up to $7.8 billion for Centessa’s orexin sleep drugs, and Merck bid $6.7 billion for Terns.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">How Did Retail Traders React?</h2><p>On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around LLY was neutral at the time of writing, while sentiment around <a class="mention" data-mention="$NVO" data-symbol-id="NVO" href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NVO" target="_blank">NVO</a> was extremely bullish. Key technical features include the Scrypt hashing algorithm, which promotes wider network participation, and MimbleWimble Extension Blocks, which improve user privacy by allowing transaction details to be hidden.  The LTC token is used for settling global payments, executing microtransactions through smaller units called litoshis, and diversifying digital portfolios with a highly liquid asset. New tokens are issued to miners as rewards for verifying blocks, though these rewards undergo a halving event approximately every four years to strictly control inflation. This process ensures the ledger maintains immutability, meaning records cannot be changed once they are saved to the global network.  Created by former Google engineer Charlie Lee, the project is supported by the Litecoin Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to ecosystem adoption. Unlike many venture-backed projects, it is maintained by a decentralized community of independent developers and a global network of miners.
