Overall U.S. EV sales fell more than 41% in November and Tesla's market share rose to 56.7% from 43.1%, the report added.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Standard Variants Fail To Prevent Slump</h2><p>Tesla launched cheaper variants of its best-selling Model Y and Model 3 vehicles in October after $7500 federal tax credit on the purchase of new EVs expired at the end of September. The Standard variant of the Model Y starts at $39,990, or at least $5000 less than its other variants.</p><p>Likewise, the Standard Model 3 starts at $36,990, at least $5500 lower than its other variants. The cheaper versions were expected to prevent a deep slide in sales caused by the removal of the tax credit.</p><p>"The drop certainly shows there is not enough demand for the Standard variants that were supposed to boost sales after the tax credit expiry," Cox's director of industry insights Stephanie Valdez Streaty told Reuters. "What’s also happening is Standard sales are cannibalizing into sales of Premium versions, especially the Model 3."</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Tesla’s Changing Priorities Threaten Sales</h2><p>Tesla is currently attempting to pivot away from being solely an EV maker to fields such as vehicle autonomy and robotics. Meanwhile, its vehicle deliveries stand at risk of dropping for the second consecutive year in 2025.</p><p>Deliveries for the nine months through September-end this year totaled 1.22 million. Tesla must now deliver 568,917 vehicles in the fourth quarter to prevent a year-over-year drop in deliveries. Notably, the company has not yet exceeded 500,000 in quarterly deliveries till date.</p><p>The company’s best quarterly delivery numbers was in the third quarter earlier this year when it delivered 497,099 vehicles, marking a year-over-year growth of 7.4%.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Ageing Lineup Aids Demand Slump</h2><p>The company is also bogged down by an ageing lineup. The last addition to Tesla’s lineup was the Cybertruck, deliveries of which began in November 2023. The Cybertruck, however, failed to bring in delivery numbers, likely due to its high price point.</p><p>Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in November during the company’s annual general meeting that the company will start production of its humanoid robot Optimus, the Tesla Semi truck and the two-seater Cybercab meant to be launched solely for robotaxi purposes in 2026. There was no mention of a cheaper model.</p><p>"Tesla has a serious challenge on its hands next year when several other automakers are planning to roll out cheaper vehicles that are also full of fun features. So the answer is that Tesla needs a completely new vehicle in its fleet. The company reported net sales of $23.64 billion for the retail month of November, an increase of 8.1% from $21.87 billion last year.</p><p>The company expects to end fiscal year 2026 with 942 warehouses, up from 914 as of the end of fiscal year 2025. It added about 7 in the first quarter.</p><p>As of the end of the quarter, Costco had 81.4 million total paid members, up 5.2% year over year and 145.9 million cardholders, up 5.1% year over year. UST was an algorithmic stablecoin that imploded in May 2022 and caused a deflation of tens of billions of dollars in market capitalization, CoinDesk&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2025/12/10/terraform-s-do-kwon-sentenced-to-15-years-in-prison-for-fraud">reported</a>.&nbsp;</p><p>Prosecutors alleged that Kwon’s behavior prolonged the “crypto winter” of 2022, as well as contributed to the collapses of FTX and Celsius that also occurred the same year.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>How The Case Reached Sentencing</strong></h2><p>Kwon pleaded guilty in August to two fraud-related charges under a deal that wiped out a nine-count indictment that could have put him away for 135 years. The revised charges carried a 25-year maximum, and prosecutors urged the judge to give him 12. His attorneys requested no more than five, claiming his conduct was intended to protect TerraUSD, not enrich himself.</p><p>Victims described losses during a lengthy hearing, testifying in person and by phone about the financial damage from Terra’s crash.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>International Proceedings</strong></h2><p>Kwon must serve at least half of his U.S. sentence before applying for transfer to South Korea, where separate fraud charges are pending. Judge Engelmayer also raised the issue of how the U.S. would know what Kwon would do if he were moved to another country. He also questioned if the 17 months Kwon spent in custody in Montenegro, where he was arrested for a passport crime, should be credited towards his sentence.</p><p>Kwon was extradited to the U.S. in January, following a lengthy legal battle.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Shifts In US Crypto Oversight</strong></h2><p>The sentencing comes at a time when Washington’s stance toward crypto oversight has shifted. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) came in at $2.59, beating the $2.21 consensus, though down from $2.87 a year earlier.</p><p>Comparable sales edged up 1%, or 2% on a constant-dollar basis. Performance varied sharply by region: revenue in the Americas slipped 2%, while international markets continued to accelerate, rising 33%.</p><p>Margins softened, with gross margin declining 290 basis points to 55.6%, and operating income falling 11% to $435.9 million. The company ended the period with 796 stores, having opened 12 net new locations.</p><p>CEO Calvin McDonald said Lululemon is “beginning to make progress” on improving its U.S. business and noted that early holiday trends have been encouraging.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Outlook Raised Despite Tariff-Related Cost Pressure</strong></h2><p>Lululemon now expects full-year EPS of $12.92–$13.02, above consensus of $12.85, and revenue of $10.96–$11.05 billion, putting the company on track to generate about $11 billion in annual sales this fiscal year.&nbsp;</p><p>For the fourth quarter (Q4), the company guided to EPS of $4.66–$4.76, below estimates of $4.93, and revenue of $3.5–$3.585 billion.</p><p>The full-year outlook incorporates an estimated $210 million hit to operating income tied to higher U.S. tariffs and removal of the de minimis exemption.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>CEO Succession Plan</strong></h2><p>Separately, Lululemon said that CEO Calvin McDonald will step down on Jan. 31, 2026, after seven years leading the company. He will remain as a senior advisor through March 31, 2026. The board has launched a CEO search with an external firm.</p><p>Board Chair Marti Morfitt has been appointed Executive Chair, effective immediately. Lululemon Stock Soars After-Hours On Blowout Q3, Upbeat Full-Year Forecast And Surprise CEO Exit

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The company reported Q4 adjusted earnings per share of $1.95, above a Wall Street estimate of $1.87, according to data from Fiscal AI.&nbsp;</li><li>The company now expects $19.1 billion in sales in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, above an analyst estimate of $18.3 billion.&nbsp;</li><li>Broadcom, like Nvidia, has greatly benefited from the AI boom with its abilities in designing custom AI chips.</li></ul><p><br>Shares of Broadcom Inc (AVGO) rose 2.3% after hours on Thursday after the company reported fourth quarter (Q4) earnings that beat Wall Street expectations and issued an upbeat outlook for the first quarter of 2026.</p><p>The company reported Q4 adjusted earnings per share of $1.95, above a Wall Street estimate of $1.87, according to data from Fiscal AI.</p><p>Revenue for the three months came in at $18.02 billion, marking a growth of 28% year-over-year, and above an analyst estimate of $17.46 billion.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Q1 2026 Forecast</h2><p>The company now expects $19.1 billion in sales in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, above an analyst estimate of $18.3 billion, on the back of strong AI chip and semiconductor demand.</p><p>"We see the momentum continuing in Q1 and expect AI semiconductor revenue to double year-over-year to $8.2 billion, driven by custom AI accelerators and Ethernet AI switches,” CEO Hock Tan said in a statement. The company further expects first quarter core profit to be 67% of projected revenue.</p><p>However, in the non-AI semiconductor segment, the company expects revenue to be about $4.1 billion in the quarter, flat from a year ago. “Directionally, we expect AI revenue to continue to accelerate and drive most of our growth, and non-AI semiconductor revenue to be stable,” the CEO said.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">AI Boom Aids Stock Rally</h2><p>Broadcom, like Nvidia, has greatly benefited from the AI boom with its abilities in designing custom AI chips. AVGO stock has gained over 75% this year and by about 122% over the past 12 months.</p><p>Tan said on Thursday that the company now has about $73 billion in AI backlog, almost half of the company’s consolidated backlog of $162 billion. (QCOM) to fully use lucrative research and development deductions that have been restricted under Biden’s 15% minimum corporate tax.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>R&amp;D Deductions Blocked By Minimum Tax</strong></h2><p>The forthcoming proposal, which could be released as early as next week but remains under final review, is expected to resolve a conflict created when the Biden-era minimum tax on companies earning at least $1 billion prevented them from using retroactive R&amp;D deductions in U.S. President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful” tax bill, according to a&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-12-11/treasury-plans-to-boost-trump-s-tax-savings-for-corporations">report</a> by Bloomberg.</p><p>Those deductions, reportedly worth an estimated $67 billion, are especially valuable to research-heavy sectors such as tech, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.</p><p>Companies including Airbnb, Broadcom and Applied Materials have warned that the supersized deductions could trigger the minimum tax or limit hundreds of millions of dollars in credits related to earlier alternative minimum tax payments. PWS is estimated to affect approximately 400,000 people worldwide and approximately 20,000 people in the United States, as per Rhythm.</p><p>The company said that safety and tolerability profile of Setmelanotide therapy in the trial was consistent with the drug’s established clinical profile.
