Drama is swirling back up in the Bitcoin (BTC) sector over data storage limits - most notably in the OP_RETURN fields.
It all began when a Bitcoin dev quietly relaxed an old limitation, which enabled people to saturate Bitcoin transactions with any data they please. Needless to say, that set off a round of vigorous debate. The “Bitcoin is for payments only” types are out in force, sparking the standard inanity of GitHub drama and community infighting.
This is where Dash (DASH) really shines. They’ve solved such a problem with three clever upgrades. For one thing, they use on-chain governance – so when ugly things like data limits rear their ugly head, the community can actually vote on it. No longer would rogue developers be able to act unilaterally.
Simple enough, no?
They also made the Evolution line just for storage data. Instead of packing everything onto the main blockchain, they keep separate ledgers. Only want to concentrate on payments? Stick with a Core node. Want those additional data features? Fire up an Evolution node. Simple as that.
The icing on the cake is DAPI – their distributed API which also allows users to connect without having to run a full node. This one’s for the people who asked for a guide to serverless apps, so you don’t have to deal with hugenormous data storage if that’s beyond you.
The end result? Amid a heated debate yet again for Bitcoin, Dash just… works. They vote on large changes, keep data storage separate, and allow users flexibility in how they participate. No forum flame wars or developer angst required.
