These constructions allow the network to maintain a secure ledger of balances without disclosing the parties or amounts involved. Instead of publicly demonstrating spend-authority and transaction values, the transaction metadata is encrypted and zk-SNARKs are used to prove that nobody is cheating or stealing.  Zcash also enables users to send public payments which work similarly to Bitcoin. With the support for both shielded and transparent addresses, users can choose to send Zcash privately or publicly. Zcash payments sent from a shielded address to a transparent address reveal the received balance, while payments from a transparent address to a shielded address protect the receiving value. Intuitive Machines (LUNR) stock gained 5.5% in premarket trading on Thursday after it agreed to buy deep space navigation services firm KinetX.Arizona-based KinetX has already been part of NASA and National Security Space missions, Intuitive noted before adding that the company is the only commercial firm certified by NASA for deep space navigation. The company did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but it is expected to close by the end of 2025.“Bringing KinetX in-house gives us both: flight-proven deep space navigation expertise and the proprietary software behind some of the most ambitious missions in the solar system,” said Intuitive Machines CEO Steve Altemus.Deep space navigation is a specialized field within astronomy that enables the guidance of spacecraft to distant locations in the solar system and beyond. U.S. Transportation Secretary and NASA’s acting administrator Sean Duffy would reportedly unveil plans later this week to build a nuclear reactor on the moon.According to a Politico report, citing documents, Duffy will order the agency to seek industry proposals for a 100-kilowatt nuclear reactor to launch by 2030, which would help facilitate the return of astronauts to the lunar surface.The directive also orders NASA to designate a leader for the effort and to get industry input within 60 days. The agency is seeking companies that can launch a reactor by 2030, around the time China plans to send its first astronaut to the moon.While the U.S. had planned to build a reactor on the moon earlier, this directive would mark the first time NASA has provided a definitive timeline for the project.According to the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/08/04/nasa-china-space-station-duffy-directives-00492172">report</a>, the directive states that the first country to have a reactor could “declare a keep-out zone which would significantly inhibit the United States.” This comes at a time when China and Russia have teamed up to install a nuclear power plant on the moon in the next decade.Duffy has also reportedly issued a directive to expedite the replacement of the International Space Station, which is currently expected to be decommissioned by the end of 2030.
