Alibaba’s AI Glasses To Be Priced At $659, Pre-Sale Planned On October 24 Via Its E-commerce Platform Tmall: Report

Alibaba (BABA) has reportedly announced the price of its soon-to-launch artificial intelligence glasses, which would go on pre-sale on October 24 on its e-commerce platform Tmall.

According to a CNBC report on Thursday, the price of the product, known as Quark AI Glasses, during pre-sale would be at 4,699 Chinese yuan ($659.4), and after applying several discounts, it would cost 3,999 yuan.

The report added that Alibaba will begin shipping the product in December. U.S.-listed shares of Alibaba rose nearly 2% in premarket trading on Thursday.

Quark AI Glasses

The CNBC report noted that Alibaba had first unveiled the Quark AI Glasses launch in July. It was one of the first products of its kind from Alibaba, and the glasses use the company’s Qwen large language model and its Quark AI assistant, it said.

The report added that the eyewear would help with a variety of tasks, including hands-free calling, music streaming, and real-time language translation.

CNBC reported that the Quark AI glasses are competing with Meta Platforms (META) smart glasses, which are made in collaboration with Ray-Ban. 

With the launch of Quark AI glasses, Alibaba will compete with another China-based consumer electronics player, Xiaomi, which unveiled its AI glasses this year, the report said.

AI Chat Assistant In Quark App

Alibaba said it has launched advanced AI chat features in its Quark app as part of its plans to reach more individual users. 

Quark's chat feature enables users to communicate via text or voice, leveraging Alibaba’s advanced Qwen3 models. According to the company, the feature delivers improved reasoning, understanding, and task-handling performance.

Retail sentiment on Alibaba remained unchanged in the ‘bearish territory, with message volumes at ‘low’ levels, according to data from Stocktwits.

U.S.-listed shares of Alibaba have gained over 95% this year.
