Centrus Energy Corp (LEU) said on Friday it has named Todd Tinelli as the company’s new chief financial officer, effective August 11, after Kevin Harrill resigned.

The firm stated that Harrill is looking to pursue other opportunities after four years as the CFO. Before that, he served as the company’s chief accounting officer.

Harrill had joined Centrus in 2021 and before that was at Blackboard Inc. from 2015 to 2021, holding positions such as vice president, chief accounting officer, and controller. Harrill will remain with the company through August 29 to ensure the transition, Centrus said.

Shares of Centrus were up nearly 1% in early trading. Retail sentiment on the stock remained unchanged in the ‘bullish’ territory, with chatter at ‘high’ levels, according to data from Stocktwits.

Incoming CFO Tinelli has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, including leadership and executive-level finance and strategic operational roles. At Centrus, he will be tasked with overseeing its financial operations, enterprise-wide optimization, and capital allocation activities. Tinelli most recently served as CFO of Sprague Resources LP, a multinational subsidiary of Hartree Partners LP.

Sprague is a 152-year-old company and one of the largest independent distillate and natural gas marketing companies in the Northeast and Quebec. During his 18-year tenure at Sprague, Tinelli held various senior positions, including treasurer and managing director of finance, director of FP&A and business development, and other positions in accounting and finance. Before Sprague, he held senior operations positions at Sempra Energy Trading, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy Corp.

Centrus stock has jumped 250% so far this year and soared nearly 500% in the last 12 months.
