Google is reportedly considering bringing ads to its AI chatbot Gemini.

The company informed the decision to advertising clients in recent days, AdWeek reported on Monday, citing agency buyers familiar with the company’s conversations with the clients.

AI Glasses

Separately, the company said in a blog on Monday that it is developing AI glasses with Gemini with partners Samsung, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The first glasses from the partnership will arrive in 2026, the company said, competing against existing products from Meta Platforms.

The company is planning two types of AI glasses: one that is designed for screen-free assistance and the other called the display AI glasses which add an in-lens display to show the user helpful information privately.

The company also said that its Android XR operating system will support wired XR glasses that offer a blend of headset-like immersion and real-world presence. The company shared a first look of the device in the category on Monday, equipped with a 70-degree field of view and optical see-through technology, allowing users to view digital content on top of their view of the physical world.
