Overall U.S. EV sales fell more than 41% in November and Tesla's market share rose to 56.7% from 43.1%, the report added.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Standard Variants Fail To Prevent Slump</h2>Tesla launched cheaper variants of its best-selling Model Y and Model 3 vehicles in October after $7500 federal tax credit on the purchase of new EVs expired at the end of September. The Standard variant of the Model Y starts at $39,990, or at least $5000 less than its other variants.Likewise, the Standard Model 3 starts at $36,990, at least $5500 lower than its other variants. The cheaper versions were expected to prevent a deep slide in sales caused by the removal of the tax credit."The drop certainly shows there is not enough demand for the Standard variants that were supposed to boost sales after the tax credit expiry," Cox's director of industry insights Stephanie Valdez Streaty told Reuters. "What’s also happening is Standard sales are cannibalizing into sales of Premium versions, especially the Model 3."<h2 class="st-heading-2">Tesla’s Changing Priorities Threaten Sales</h2>Tesla is currently attempting to pivot away from being solely an EV maker to fields such as vehicle autonomy and robotics. Meanwhile, its vehicle deliveries stand at risk of dropping for the second consecutive year in 2025.Deliveries for the nine months through September-end this year totaled 1.22 million. Tesla must now deliver 568,917 vehicles in the fourth quarter to prevent a year-over-year drop in deliveries. Notably, the company has not yet exceeded 500,000 in quarterly deliveries till date.The company’s best quarterly delivery numbers was in the third quarter earlier this year when it delivered 497,099 vehicles, marking a year-over-year growth of 7.4%.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Ageing Lineup Aids Demand Slump</h2>The company is also bogged down by an ageing lineup. The last addition to Tesla’s lineup was the Cybertruck, deliveries of which began in November 2023. The Cybertruck, however, failed to bring in delivery numbers, likely due to its high price point.Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in November during the company’s annual general meeting that the company will start production of its humanoid robot Optimus, the Tesla Semi truck and the two-seater Cybercab meant to be launched solely for robotaxi purposes in 2026. There was no mention of a cheaper model."Tesla has a serious challenge on its hands next year when several other automakers are planning to roll out cheaper vehicles that are also full of fun features. So the answer is that Tesla needs a completely new vehicle in its fleet. The company reported net sales of $23.64 billion for the retail month of November, an increase of 8.1% from $21.87 billion last year.The company expects to end fiscal year 2026 with 942 warehouses, up from 914 as of the end of fiscal year 2025. It added about 7 in the first quarter.As of the end of the quarter, Costco had 81.4 million total paid members, up 5.2% year over year and 145.9 million cardholders, up 5.1% year over year. Costco Stock Dips After Hours Despite Strong Q1 And Holiday Momentum — Retail Bulls Eye Rally Next Week

The company further expects first quarter core profit to be 67% of projected revenue.However, in the non-AI semiconductor segment, the company expects revenue to be about $4.1 billion in the quarter, flat from a year ago. “Directionally, we expect AI revenue to continue to accelerate and drive most of our growth, and non-AI semiconductor revenue to be stable,” the CEO said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">AI Boom Aids Stock Rally</h2>Broadcom, like Nvidia, has greatly benefited from the AI boom with its abilities in designing custom AI chips. AVGO stock has gained over 75% this year and by about 122% over the past 12 months.Tan said on Thursday that the company now has about $73 billion in AI backlog, almost half of the company’s consolidated backlog of $162 billion. Shares of Apple (AAPL) fell 0.3% on Thursday after the company reportedly won a partial reversal of parts of a court order requiring the company to make changes to its App Store to promote greater competition in a long-running lawsuit brought by 'Fortnite' creator Epic Games.Apple filed a notice of appeal in May after U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers ruled that Apple willfully violated a 2021 injunction that allowed developers to direct users to alternative, non-Apple payment options.In her ruling, Gonzalez Rogers criticized Apple for creating new obstacles — including a 27% fee for out-of-store purchases — and for deploying so-called “scare screens” that discouraged consumers from using third-party payment systems.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Partial Reversal Terms</h2>Reuters<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/us-appeals-court-partly-reverses-sanctions-against-apple-epic-games-antitrust-2025-12-11/"> reported</a> on Thursday that the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that parts of the judge’s April order holding Apple in contempt for violating a prior decision were overbroad and must be modified. However, the appeals court upheld most of the contempt filing and the company lost its bid to overturn the injunction, the report added.The court altered part of the lower court's ruling that barred Apple from charging any commission or fee tied to purchases that do not take place on the Apple platform and said the trial judge must now modify that part of her order.<h2 class="st-heading-2">The Long Legal Battle</h2>The tech giant and Epic Games have been at odds since 2020, when the latter alleged that the iPhone maker’s practice of charging a 30% commission on in-app payments violated U.S. antitrust laws.  The San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reportedly ruled that parts of a judge’s April order holding Apple in contempt for violating a prior decision were overbroad and must be modified.

(RYTM) jumped 14% on Thursday after the company announced that its mid-stage study evaluating Setmelanotide in Prader-Willi Syndrome patients showed reduction in weight and hyperphagia.The company <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://ir.rhythmtx.com/news-releases/news-release-details/rhythm-pharmaceuticals-announces-preliminary-data-exploratory">said</a> that the reduction in body mass index as well as hyperphagia or extreme, insatiable, or excessive hunger that does not go away after eating was observed at the third and sixth-month mark in the trial. The company said that the results are supportive of a late-stage registrational trial.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Trial Design</h2>The company enrolled 18 patients with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) in the ongoing 52 week trial. Of this, 17 patients remain enrolled on active Setmelanotide therapy and the company will share additional data in the first half of 2026, it added.PWS is a rare genetic disorder requiring lifelong management and causing poor muscle tone and feeding issues in infancy, followed by relentless hunger (hyperphagia) and severe obesity in childhood, alongside developmental delays, learning disabilities, and distinctive behavioral problems. PWS is estimated to affect approximately 400,000 people worldwide and approximately 20,000 people in the United States, as per Rhythm.The company said that safety and tolerability profile of Setmelanotide therapy in the trial was consistent with the drug’s established clinical profile. Rhythm Pharmaceuticals Stock Rises After Positive Study Data For Setmelanotide In Treating Genetic Disorder 

 The company was studying the therapy in Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder requiring lifelong management.

The CEO expressed optimism about the chip allowing the company to achieve level 4 vehicle autonomy. While Rivian currently offers advanced driver assistance features on its R1 vehicles, they require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicles autonomous.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">New Compute Platform For Higher Autonomy</h2>The new in-house chip is called RAP1 or Rivian Autonomy Processor1 and is aimed at processing data from the new addition of LIDAR in addition to other visual-centric sensors including cameras. It will be produced by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC).The company said that its next generation vehicle computers called Autonomy Compute Module 3 will have two RAP1 chips and will be capable of processing 5 billion pixels per second. “This computer achieves four times the peak performance of our gen two computer, while improving power efficiency by a factor of two and a half,” Rivian executive Vidya Rajagopalan said. The company’s previous generation computer used Nvidia Orin chips. &nbsp;“Our updated hardware platform, which includes our in-house 1600 sparse TOPS inference chip, will enable us to achieve dramatic progress in self-driving to ultimately deliver on our goal of delivering L4. This represents an inflection point for the ownership experience – ultimately being able to give customers their time back when in the car,” Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe said.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">R2 SUV To Boost Tesla Rivalry</h2>EV giant Tesla also develops its own chips to enable its driver assistance software called full self driving or FSD. While Tesla is optimistic of the software enabling full vehicle autonomy in time with just cameras, they currently actively require driver supervision. Tesla’s chips are produced by Samsung and TSMC.Rivian is now looking forward to starting production of its R2 SUV in the first half of 2026. The vehicle is expected to expand the company’s total addressable market with its lower starting price, unlike the company’s pricier R1 offerings.The company said that its decision to integrate LIDAR in future R2 models is aimed at improving real-time detection for the edge cases of driving where merely cameras fall short, such as in instances of low lighting. The company’s ACM3 and LIDAR are currently undergoing validation and will be integrated on R2 models starting at the end of 2026, the company said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">FSD Rival Autonomy+</h2>The company also announced its driver-assistance package called Autonomy+ to rival Tesla’s FSD on Thursday. Autonomy+ will launch in early 2026 and will be priced at $2,500, below FSD’s $8000 sticker price. &nbsp;For its R1 vehicles, which are currently in production, the company said that it will expand its &nbsp;Universal Hands-Free (UHF) feature, allowing hands-free assisted driving on over 3.5 million miles of roads across the USA and Canada in the near term. PepsiCo Reportedly Moves To Overhaul North American Supply Chain To Strike Peace With Activist Elliott

The initial proof of concept site is close to Exxon’s Denbury carbon dioxide pipeline, gas supply and transmission, the company said, while adding that there are multi-site development opportunities following proof of concept. Hyperscalers are massive tech companies that build enormous, highly scalable data centers to provide vast, on-demand cloud computing, storage, and AI services globally, such as Amazon’s AWS or Microsoft’s Azure.“Based on our work with hyperscalers to date, we think this is going to turn out to be an attractive site, and there's more to come with ExxonMobil if we're able to prove out demand at this site,” NextEra CEO John Ketchum said in a call with investors.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Other Deals And Partnerships</h2>NextEra is leaning into natural gas to meet the growing demand for energy as AI scales.
