Assam tea workers to get 20% bonus across 90 estates ahead of Durga Puja
The Assam cabinet has approved a 20% bonus for employees and workers of the Assam Tea Corporation ahead of Durga Puja. The move
will benefit thousands of tea workers across 90 tea estates in the state.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the decision, according to news agency ANI. Earlier this month, the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) union confirmed that seven major tea groups — including McLeod Russel, Andrew Yule, Dhunseri, Goodricke and the Luxmi Group — had already agreed to give workers the same bonus.
16 states in revenue surplus, UP tops list, Andhra posts biggest deficit, says CAG
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India released a report on state finances on Friday.
The report stated that 16 states recorded a revenue surplus while 12 reported a revenue deficit in 2022-23. Uttar Pradesh posted the highest revenue surplus of ₹37,000 crore, followed by Gujarat (₹19,865 crore) and Odisha (₹19,456 crore).
Andhra Pradesh recorded the largest revenue deficit at ₹43,488 crore, followed by Tamil Nadu (₹36,215 crore) and Rajasthan (₹31,491 crore).
AHPI, Star Health to resume cashless services at member hospitals from October 10
The Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI) and Star Health and Allied Insurance (Star Health) announced
