Microsoft, Accenture Partner To Beef Up Cybersecurity After Recent Hacks

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) and Accenture PLC (ACN) on Thursday announced a collaboration on agentic AI cybersecurity solutions and data analytics to tackle cyber attacks.

In a statement, Accenture said it is expanding its Adaptive MxDR offering with new capabilities that integrate with Microsoft Security platforms, with the two companies and their joint venture Avanade set to deliver more advanced AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.

The announcement comes shortly after a cyberattack on medical technology company Stryker Corporation (SYK) that caused a global ⁠disruption to its Microsoft environment, with remote devices running on its operating system wiped clean.

The U.S. government has also reportedly pushed companies to strengthen Microsoft's endpoint management tool security.

Battle Against Cyber Threats

Accenture’s MxDR for Microsoft will integrate multiple security tools, including Sentinel, Defender, and Threat Intelligence, into a unified platform to enable faster and more accurate threat detection, investigation, and response using AI-powered analytics.

The partnership will leverage agentic AI capabilities to identify risks, reduce blind spots, and automate routine threat responses, while also employing a centralized content library and pre-packaged deployment tools to streamline implementation of Microsoft security products.
