Tesla Inc. (TSLA) on Monday teased that the Model Y L is coming soon to China, showing off the car’s design and interiors in a post on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo.

Tesla shares traded 0.5% higher in Monday’s morning session. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits around the company was in the ‘bullish’ territory.

The Model Y L is a six-seater car that Tesla unveiled in July — the company said at the time that it would launch the vehicle in China in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, with deliveries expected to begin during the fall.

The sports utility vehicle (SUV) also appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's regulatory filing in July.

The Model Y L measures 4,976 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,668 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,040 mm. For context, the five-seater Model Y refresh announced in January measures 4,797 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,624 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm.

The Model Y L has two motors powering the car, with a combined output of 340 kilowatts. The six-seater SUV has an 82-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack from LG Energy, with a China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) range of 751 kilometers.

TSLA stock is down 18% year-to-date, but up 49% in the past 12 months.
