President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday, indicating that Washington is actively engaged in discussions with a “new and more reasonable” Iranian leadership to potentially end U.S. military operations in the country.

Trump’s message highlighted progress in talks but also included stark warnings. The president stated that if negotiations fail or if the strategic Hormuz Strait is not reopened promptly, the U.S. could respond by targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure.

“Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately “Open for Business,” we will conclude our lovely “stay” in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet “touched.”
