U.S. equities declined in Tuesday morning’s trade as the Iran war continued to intensify, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling by over 1,200 points.
This is after President Donald Trump warned Iran that it’s “too late” for talks with the country, amid an increase in strikes by the United States and Israel on the Middle Eastern country.
“Their air defense, Air Force, Navy, and Leadership is gone. They want to talk. I said ‘Too Late!’” he said in a post on Truth Social.

This comes hours after the President said that the United States will do “whatever it takes” to achieve its objectives in the Iran war.
At the time of writing, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), which tracks the S&P 500 index, was down 2.41%; the Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (QQQ) fell 2.59%; and the SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA) declined 2.52%. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits regarding the S&P 500 ETF was in the ‘bearish’ territory.
President Trump stated in a post on Truth Social that the U.S. has “unlimited mid to upper tier” weaponry.

In another post, the President went into more detail about the United States’ weapon inventory. “We have a virtually unlimited supply of these weapons. Wars can be fought ‘forever,’ and very successfully, using just these supplies,” he said, adding that the U.S. is stock and ready to win big.
The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia issued a warning about an imminent threat of missile and drone attacks at the consulate in Dhahran.
“Do not go outside. The U.S. Consulate in Dhahran urges U.S. citizens in Dhahran to shelter in place, review security plans in the event of an attack, and to stay alert in case of additional future attacks,” it said in a post on X.
The Israeli military said it has launched airstrikes on Iran’s capital, Tehran, and on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, marking an escalation in the widening Middle East conflict. The Beirut strikes followed Hezbollah’s entry into the war, after the Iran-aligned group fired rockets and drones toward Israel.
In response to the attacks from Hezbollah, Israel intercepted incoming projectiles, deployed troops into southern Lebanon and conducted multiple air strikes.
“We're only at the border line area in a defensive manner to prevent attacks against civilians and very strategic important points," Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani said, according to a report by Reuters.
